Walking Caution

As more and more people on Thetis are driving electric cars these days, it really is important to walk on the left side of the road, FACING ONCOMING TRAFFIC.  Electric vehicles can sneak up on you, unlike noisy diesel pickups etc.

Please walk on the left for safety, and as an added bonus you can wave at the driver.

Eye Drops Recalled in U.S. after Reports of Vision Loss, Deaths

Two brands of eye drops sold in the US have been recalled but Health Canada has not yet reported any problems in this country.  However, since these drops are over-the-counter products that may have been purchased while you were visiting the US this winter, I am posting this information just in case.  Please see the Global News link below for more background.

Temporary Change to Fairyslipper Forest Nature Reserve Trail Access

A dangerous tree has been identified near the entrance to the Fairyslipper Forest Nature Reserve trail. The tree needs to be removed by a professional which might take some time so that section of trail is temporarily closed until the work can be done. In the meantime, the rest of the trail can be accessed via a temporary access trail nearby and which is marked by yellow caution tape and signage at the parking area.

Thank you for your understanding while we complete this safety-related task.
