John & Charlene Toplensky Farewell

Join us at Forbes Hall on Tues, June 6 from 2 - 4 pm to wish John & Charlene Toplensky well before they make their move away from Thetis Island to Alberta.

The Toplenskys have been resident on Thetis since the Fall of 2004 and have been a big part of not only Capernwray Harbour but the Thetis Island Community as well. This is a come and go event, so do come and visit with John and Charlene (and others) and send them off with our love, blessings and best wishes. Light refreshments will be served.

Looking For Sponsors

I’m off to take part in a fundraising trek in the high arctic. 100% of funds raised go to the schools in Tuktoyuktuk and Inuvik, NWT. Check it out and if you are able to donate any amount will be greatly appreciated and will make a huge difference to the lives of the students there! These communities are experiencing some of the most extreme effects of the climate crisis. I’ll be posting photos of the experience on the Friends of Thetis FB page as we trek along.

Thank you in advance!

ThINC Printer Woes

ThINC's donated inkjet printer has stopped working. Is there anyone on the island with the skills to assess whether it can be repaired (our first choice) or with a retired but functioning printer they are willing to donate? If so, please contact us at info@thetisislandnatureconservancy.org

Many thanks in advance from the ThINC Team.

Quarterly Pick-up

Sorry, but this is very uncertain. Apple Press in Duncan doesn't know if he'll have them done by Friday, or Saturday. If anyone is going to be in Duncan on Friday, I or they could call (250-746-1019) and see if they're ready by Friday afternoon - they're open until 5. He’s also there between 11am and 12:30pm on Saturday. Otherwise, it's Monday.

So, I realize it's a very off-chance indeed that anyone can do this, but if you find yourself there, and they're done and you can get them, that would be AWESOME! Let me know if there's a chance, and I'll try to keep ahead of what's happening there. The address is 430 Trans Canada Hwy, Duncan, just north of Coronation Ave.

Thank you - whoever you are!
