Capernwray Students Returning

Dear Island Neighbours,

Our students will be returning to Capernwray Harbour this upcoming Sunday, January 11th. We wanted to let you know as this might affect ferry traffic that day.

We have 90 students this semester! We anticipate that they will arrive on scattered ferries throughout the afternoon. The majority will be walk-ons with a few vehicles.

Thank you for your patience and understanding. Please let us know if you have any questions.

Soup’s On: Wednesday, January 7th 2026

11:30 am until 1:00 pm

Gather at Forbes Hall for a very Thetis Island lunch...

Menu:

Green Pea and Ham Soup

Carrot Ginger Soup vegetarian / GF

Cheese Biscuits

Assorted Baked Goodies

Coffee/ Tea

Suggested donation of $7 for soup, bread, treats and teas & coffee.

Soup’s On is entirely carried out by volunteers and, as one of the tasks is the program’s accounting, please do not pay with coins smaller than Loonies and Toonies. As all change must be counted and rolled.

For those who find large groups challenging, enjoy your lunch in this week’s designated quiet room, the Boardroom.

Everyone is welcome to join us, seniors, seniors who don’t think they’re seniors, workers, families, and everyone who just wants a mid-day meal!

Menu remainders for take-out when available. Soup’s On also supports the Thetis Island Food Pantry.

Coupon Booklets of 10 for your convenience, $70.00

Capernwray Harbour - Geese Harvest

Please note that the entire Capernwray Harbour property including waterfront and forest trails will be closed to all public access Tuesday January 6, 2026 between 10:30am and 4pm due to the last controlled harvest of Canada Geese for this season before our property returns to normal operations.

Again, all legal requirements and permits have been obtained and qualified personnel will be conducting the harvest.

All safety precautions have been taken to conduct the operation without risk to public safety while minimal staff are present and all our students are away.

Again, we appreciate your collaboration and apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Please contact Sony at (250) 732-1169 for any questions or concerns.

Jollity Farm - We're back! Happy New Year!

Open Saturday 10-1

Hope you all had enjoyable winter festivities. We enjoyed a wee bit of time to relax and dream about the year ahead. It's hard to believe that planting for this year already starts in a few weeks.

We are back to the usual schedule with all dairy orders due by Monday evening. If we don't hear differently, we'll assume you are having your usual milk and eggs. We'll be picking up bagels this week and True Grain bakery next week. We have a few extra Levain sourdough available this Saturday.

Thank you all for visiting our farm every Saturday. We love to see you and catch up each week.
