Free: Lazy "Girl" Recliner: dark brown, not powered, some discoloration on head rest (darn hair product), mechanics work well but a little more clunk than newer models. Can deliver on Thetis. 27" back width, 37.5" across arms and seat, 21" seat width, floor to seat 17.5". Pictures on request.

Wanted: Styrofoam pieces appropriate for lining the inside of domestic waterline connection boxes. Minimum thickness 6", Preferred minimum size 32" by 24". Check those styrofoam pieces from your Christmas gifts and save yourself a trip to recycle.

Women’s Polar Bear Swim – Update #2

Since the Women’s Polar Bear Swim will have a campfire, please remember to bring a chair and a cup for the tea that will be provided.

For anyone wanting to wear a wetsuit and do more than a quick dip, I have two wetsuits to lend: one large and one medium. Please contact me prior to the event to reserve the one that you want.

It is also recommended that all women wear water shoes or booties for safety and comfort in the water.

Since parking is rather limited, ridesharing with your friends might be an idea.

Post Office Store and Liquor Store hours Wednesday Dec 31

The hours for Post Office Store and Liquor Store hours Wednesday Dec 31 (New Year's Eve) will be:

1000 to 4:00 PM

This is to accommodate the prep for the New Year’s Eve dinner.

Post Office Hours AFTER New Year's

After New year's the post office will be going back onto regular hours.

Hours of operation
· Monday to Friday
· 1000 AM to 0530 PM (closed from 1200 to 1230 for lunch)
· Saturday
· 1030 AM to 1200
· Closed holidays
· TDG Thursdays: Some TDG Thursdays we may be gone for about 20 minutes around 1100 to get the mail at the ferry to help the deliverer get back on the ferry.

Services
All regular postal services except bill payments and any type of money transfer. We do not have the resources to offer this service.

Red Drop Box and Post Office Boxes
· Mail is sorted into the Post Office boxes between 0900 and 1000 AM each morning
· If you want your mail to go out on a given day have it in the red box before 0900 or bring it down to the Post Office before 1100 AM

· EXCEPTION: Mail is picked up at 0900 AM on Friday therefore it you wish your mail to go out Friday get it into the Post Office (NOT the red box) before 0530 PM Thursday

Mail and Parcels
· According to regulations we are only supposed to keep mail and parcels for 2 weeks then we are to send it back. Obviously, we have not been doing that. If you are going to be away longer than 2 weeks, please let us know length of time so we can hold your mail. Depending on the length of time there could be a fee charged for parcels.
· Please bring parcel tags to facilitate retrieving your parcels

If you choose to put your on-island letters in the drop box please advise the people you are leaving them for that they are there. If you want the post office to distribute your on-island letters, put them in the red mailbox. The Post office will NOT be checking the drop box. We take no responsibility for the use of the drop box.

It's almost time for the coolest event of 2026.
January 1st 1:00 PM, Sunrise Point Women's Polar Bear Swim.

This is a celebration of women, community, and the life-giving energy of our island coast.
Jump in or stay warm by the fire. Wearing a parka, wrapped in a blanket, or holding a cup of tea is just as much participation as plunging into the ocean in a wetsuit, bathing suit, or nature suit.

Feel the winter Pacific on your skin, the wind in your hair, the salt in the air, and the rhythm of the waves. Whether in the water or by the fire, you’re part of the energy, the laughter, and the joy of this moment.
Athenia will be serving her Island Famous Blossom & Bark foraged tea. Please bring your own mug, we’re keeping this earth-friendly.
This is a women-only gathering, intentionally held without men to create a safe, supportive space where we can fully relax, connect, and celebrate ourselves.

Keep warm tip...
Bring a bag with your warm clothes and a hot water bottle. After your swim (or if you’re sitting by the fire), change into your warm clothes and snuggle up to the hot water bottle, you’ll be cozy in no time.
