Rain/Flood Erosion Prevention Workshop

A TIRRA community project (in collaboration with ThINC & landowner partners) is planned for the Lawrence Trail on Feb 18, at 9:00 a.m. This Low Impact Design (LID) workshop/work party (as used in the upland rain-garden remediation at the Cemetery) is required in order to prevent further erosion by mitigating overland flooding caused by extreme rain events. This is an opportunity for Islanders to learn about mitigation techniques and how they may apply these methods to their own properties.

This workday will be under the direction of Doug Fenton, an environmental mitigation specialist.

Further info forthcoming.
