Friday, December 17, 2021 at 8:10AM Once again Athenia and I are turning to the magic of espokes.... I have failed to procure a real Christmas tree on the other side, (another thing in short supply because of recent weather.) It goes against our way of living to purchase a new artificial tree. Do you have one we could borrow? We only need it until Jan 1st, then you could put it back in your storage space:)...I'm hopeful for a nice one but I might have to lower my expectations. Athenia would be happy to gift you a nicely framed drawing of your tree with the new frames we acquired from our lovely fellow islanders...

Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at 10:56AM Thank you to those who have let us know they will be attending the clinic on January 11th here on Thetis. It is definitely happening – we have been given the times (10am-12 noon and 1pm-3:30pm), and the nurses and an administrator have been assigned.
However, it is still not possible to book a slot online or by phone, as the Thetis clinic hasn't made it as far as being added to the ImmunizeBC booking system. We're letting you know, in case you have tried and been frustrated, that this delay is unfortunately normal. We will let you know as soon as we hear we have been "plugged in" to the booking system.
Or, if anyone randomly tries and can get through, please let us know so we can spread the word!

Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at 1:32PM Hello! We are hoping to relocate to Thetis and are looking to buy either an empty lot or a place with a small house/cabin already built on it. I’m a former Capernwray staff member and my husband works for BC Ferries. We’d love to be back on Thetis, if anyone has anything coming up for sale in the new year please let us know!

Monday, December 13, 2021 at 8:25AM I am planning another delivery of dry firewood to the Fairy Creek old growth logging protest camp.
Any contributions of dry firewood, whether an armload, a wheelbarrow load or a truck load will be greatly appreciated by the eco-warriors who are protecting our old growth forests. I can pick up contributions any time until Wed afternoon.
Additionally there is room in the cab of the truck for smaller items which they need to help them thru the cold, wet times ahead. Please visit the Fairy Creek website for a list of current needs.
I hope to catch the 0900 ferry on Friday Am. for last minute contributions.
Phone Wayne 246-2184
PS: cash contributions should be made thru their website
Monday, December 13, 2021 at 8:25AM On Thursday last week The Thetis Society of the Perplexed (TSOP) finished its programming for 2021. TSOP thanks to all those who have participated in and/or supported its activity in 2021, and we wish Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all Thetis Islanders. If you want to learn more about the December TSOP sessions detailing the idea of the Messiah in the foundation of the Western Civilization between 500 BCE and 500 CE, please contact jcerny@gmail.com for synopsis, syllabus and full text of the presentations.
Sunday, December 12, 2021 at 7:06PM Thank you all whom have, or are about to donate grocery and unwrapped gift items to the Harvest House Food Bank that serves our Thetis and Penelakut and Chemainus neighbours.
Our volunteer is taking the boxes over on Thursday morning.
Please drop off your donations by Wednesday evening at the latest. There is a box at the front door of the firehall on Mission Road that we empty regularly.
