Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at 8:53AM The Forbes Hall Food Services will be holding off on the Soup's On lunches until Feb.
The new BC protocols and the Omicron variant means taking extra precautions at this time. The COVID-19 clinic on Jan 11 gives us all a booster shot or for some a first or second shot. It takes 2 weeks for it to be effective which takes us to Jan 25. So a new start in Feb seems to be the wisest decision.
We will again re-look at the start in Feb later this month.
Happy New Year to all.

Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at 8:52AM Anyone willing to lend me a hewing/broad axe? I would like to have a go at making a rough hewn beam and decide if it’s worth purchasing my own axe.

Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at 8:51AM I’m getting a pallet of bricks delivered to Thetis on Tuesday early afternoon. If anyone is interested in a pallet he said he will bring another to deliver while he’s here in case someone does.
Text or call Jay @ (250) 741-7872 if you would like a pallet.
Sunday, January 2, 2022 at 8:43AM There are newly revised BC Public Health Office Orders that need to be complied with at Forbes Hall, see below.
All activity leaders have been asked to comply with these orders, and to speak with their volunteers and attendees.
I know that any restrictions can frustrating as well as limiting but do ask for your compliance during this time.
Thanks

Worship Services
If all participants are vaccinated as determined by the worship service leader, there are no capacity restrictions on worship services and choirs.
If participants are not all vaccinated, worship services and choirs are limited to 50% seated capacity. 50% of the Assembly Hall + MPR = 95 people.
Please note that masks are now required but can be temporarily removed for ceremonial eating and drinking, and by officiants, readers or for singing a solo where physical distancing is observed.
*****
Exercise / Yoga / Tai Chi
These activities are cancelled until the restrictions loosen. Thanks for your compliance.
*****
Library
Masks are required. No proof of vaccination/boosters required.
Masks can be off while actively eating / drinking. Sitting visiting at the table while not eating or drinking does not allow for masks to be off.
*****
Workshops / Seminars / Meetings / Activities / General Use
All attendees must wear masks. No provision has been made for eating and/or drinking, however, we will assume that while ACTIVELY drinking/eating, the mask can temporarily be removed.
Those doing the work of TICA are not required to wear masks unless the hall is open to the public for scheduled community activities.
*****
Food Service (Soup’s On etc.)
All diners must be seated, no exchanging of tables, and masks must be worn if standing, or if seated and no longer eating and/or drinking.
*****
Note: all community activities run by volunteers may be stricter than the PHO mandates and restrictions. Each activity or service provided by volunteers will make the decision whether to proceed with their activity, provided they do not relax mandates or restrictions.

Friday, December 31, 2021 at 10:55AM The Clinical Project Director - Pandemic Planning for Island Health emailed us at 9 pm Thursday night, apologizing for the issues with booking for the Whole Community Clinic on January 11th here on Thetis. She says those issues have been fixed and people should now be able to book a time for their shot.
The Provincial Call Centre has been advised. The Call Centre is open from 7 am to 7 pm. This is an All Ages Clinic. If you have an appointment at another location and wish to change it to Thetis, call in to arrange a spot. You must be registered to get an appointment, but they can do that when you call, if you aren't registered already. Call 1-833-838-2323.
Once again, if you have any problems, let us know. But we really hope this time they've fixed it.

Friday, December 31, 2021 at 10:53AM Due to dangerous road conditions our Cobble Hill farm friends have advised us to postpone milk pickup to Monday.
All home grocery delivery and on-farm pickup of dairy, veggies, eggs and baking is subsequently delayed to Monday afternoon.
Unless a substantial melt happens, our driveway is too slippery to traverse until temperatures rise a bit over the weekend and melt some slippery ice patches.
Home delivery will happen on Monday afternoon between approximately 2-4. If your driveway is still very snowy or icy we’ll be in touch to make arrangements for safe delivery. We will aim to have our driveway clear for you to come up and collect milk, eggs and veggies starting Monday afternoon and any day following, that is convenient for you.
We are sorry for the inconvenience but in the interest of safety first, we feel this is the best decision.
With thanks and best wishes for a Happy New Year from the Jollity Farmers!
