Looking for Housing

Hello! We are hoping to relocate to Thetis and are looking to buy either an empty lot or a place with a small house/cabin already built on it. I’m a former Capernwray staff member and my husband works for BC Ferries. We’d love to be back on Thetis, if anyone has anything coming up for sale in the new year please let us know!

Firewood to Fairy Creek

am planning another delivery of dry firewood to the Fairy Creek old growth logging protest camp.

Any contributions of dry firewood, whether an armload, a wheelbarrow  load or a truck load will be greatly appreciated by the eco-warriors who are protecting our old growth forests. I can pick up contributions any time until Wed afternoon.

Additionally there is room in the cab of the truck for smaller items which they need to help them thru the cold, wet times ahead. Please visit the Fairy Creek website for a list of current needs.

I hope to catch the 0900 ferry on Friday Am. for last minute contributions.

Phone Wayne 246-2184

PS: cash contributions should be made thru their website

Cycling Note

This is to ask cyclists, including e-bikers, for a show of interest in participating in a free Tour de Thetis friendly ride on the morning of December 29 or 30th.

The route from the community centre goes to major points on the island, and, on a traditional bike takes from 1 to 2 hours depending on age and fitness.

There would be a rain (snow?) check in case of poor weather.

Call Fred Clark at 250 246 9175 or Dave Steen at 250 246 3530.

Dollar Donations for the Food Bank

If you're low on canned goods or can't make it to the store, we're here to make giving easier!

In coordination with the TIVFD, I'll be collecting funds for the Chemainus Food Bank.

No amount is too small or too big :)

Drop me an email and we'll coordinate: coins, cash, checks, gold bullion--it's all good!

AND you still have time to drop off any items for the Food Bank any time before December 16, in the box at the front of the Fire Hall on Mission Road.  All non-perishable food items must be unopened and not past the expiry date.

Happy Winter Solstice!!   Stay warm and healthy.
