The Milk Run... Delivery Order Reminders

If you want to join the local milk run or change your order for delivery this Thursday, orders must be received by 5pm Monday. 

Add local artistan-style Tree Island Yogurt orders by 9am Monday.

Yoga on the lawn: Monday, June 29th

It looks like it will be a beautiful evening for yoga on the lawn! I will be offering an active all-levels class from 6-7:15 tonight. Come move your body and build community with us. 

Location: the lawn at 297 Mission Road (access from North Cove Road).

Parking: available near the community centre, just up the road.

What to bring: a yoga mat or towel, blanket, your preferred props, a sweater, bug spray 

Fee: $10 or pay what you can and if you can't pay, please come anyway!  

The gate will be open and I look forward to seeing you all soon,

Abandoned Campfire

Someone abandoned a non-extinguished campfire on vacant land off Sunrise Point Road. It was quite windy Sunday evening and if it weren’t for sharp-eyed (and sharp-nosed) walkers this stupidity could have started a bushfire.  The walkers immediately called the fire department and the forested area was made safe.

It might be a good idea to start carrying a gallon jug of water in your vehicle in case you come upon a smouldering fire or cigarette.

Hello local food producers, 

Thanks again for participating in our recent survey on Thetis Island’s food security.  Based on the results, a large percentage of respondents felt local food security was very important, were interested in finding out more about local food sources, and wanted to contribute to our community’s food security. 

Your responses also showed that there are a variety of food sources on Thetis! Some include: farms, gardens, orchards, vineyards, medicinal gardens, livestock, eggs, etc.  We are currently developing a database of such food sources and would really appreciate your input!
