Air Advisory from CVRD

Hello Everyone,

As we move into 2019 we are reminded of the fragility of our air quality in the Cowichan Region.  I have attached an air advisory warning. We can all talk to neighbours, friends and colleagues to spread the word and to do all that we can to stop burning.

Posted at https://www2.gov.bc.ca/assets/gov/environment/air-land-water/air/advisories/2019-01-14_cowichan_issued.pdf

Sincerely,

Cindy

Thetis danceXchange

Thetis danceXchange is a community collaborative that fosters positive change through dance and intentional movement.

danceXchange is a community-based dance initiative on Thetis. The group holds occasional educational dance and movement events for people of all ages and genders with goals of fostering inclusion, connection, healthful movement and fun!

We take turns teaching or facilitating with a cooperative approach to sharing, learning, and co-creating together in a welcoming drug-free and alcohol-free space.

The name "danceXchange" evokes the idea of both "dance exchanges" and being "changed by dance."

Come dancing! On Saturday, January 19, 5Rhythms teacher Chantell Foss (Duncan, BC) is offering a 5RHYTHMS workshop at Forbes Hall. We are excited to host Chantell as she brings the 5RHYTHMS to Thetis for the first time!

Info: https://www.chantellfoss.com/workshops.html

The main danceXchange coordinators are Kelly Bannister and Tatiana Ishwari.

Want more info? Wish to facilitate a movement event? Want to join the danceXchange email list? Contact us at ThetisDanceXchange@gmail.com.

Discussion Group Meeting ~ January 14th 7:00PM

Dear Friends:

In case you missed the announcement I sent out, our first discussion group will take place tomorrow evening, January 14, 7:00 p.m. at my place, 81 Blue Heron Road.

Please bring a flashlight and park on the road.

Also, come prepared to introduce yourself and share with us one or two of the many issues and questions that concern you these days.

As I learned from my Indigenous friends during four years of research, talking is easy for some folks, but listening is an art that few of us have perfected.

I look forward to seeing you, and seeing how this idea develops.

Cheers,

Gary

Looking for Used Vehicle

We are looking for a second vehicle, and we just wanted to put it out there before we bought something off island.

Maybe somebody has a vehicle they're not using and would be willing to sell and/or trade for firewood for next year or chainsaw work.

We're not looking to spend a lot of money, so if it needs some work, no problem (will consider all beaters!).

Thanks,

Anaïs & Travis
