Hello all,
It's time to refresh the front page photo. If you have one you'd like to share with the community, please send it along to editor@thetisblog.net
Please be sure to include the title, and your full name. I'll rotate through them during the year, as appropriate to the seasons.
Many thanks
Ann
For those of you wishing to use your October Yard Waste Fire Permit, the Interactive Venting Index Map is now easily available on the TIVFD website.
Go to www.thetisislandfire.ca and click on the link below the Hazard Board graphic.
We are in the green zone on the map: Southern Vancouver Island. If it says NO, open burning cannot be initiated today in this zone. If it says YES, then open burning can be initiated today. The
Venting Index must be followed even in the no-permit-required months on Thetis Island from November 1st
thru to April 1st. If you haven’t requested your open burning yard waste permit for October, go to
www.thetisislandfire.ca and click on the on-line Fire Permit link on the left of the page. Permits are generally
granted within 24 hours but can be delayed, so plan ahead.

As a Candidate for Area G in the CVRD, I invite voters to come over to the Library on Oct. 7th and 14th from
noon to 2 p.m. to ask questions, talk about issues important to them at the CVRD level of government, and
take time to learn about my credentials for the job at hand. Tea and treats provided.

St. Margarets Cemetery needs some hardy souls to come out this week, Wednesday and perhaps Thursday, to get some important work done.
As a part of the ongoing projects for the cemetery we have ordered a couple of loads of mulch which will need to be distributed along the intercept ditch and into rainwater garden areas in the new section of the cemetery.
If you have a wheel barrow, shovel and are able and willing, WE SURE COULD USE YOUR HELP.
Plan to be at the cemetery Wednesday morning, and perhaps Thursday, at 9am
Hope tosee you there!
Thanking you in advance.
