From Emily at Fern & Fallow...

Thank you to everyone who came up for a breakfast or lunch at the Jollity Farm market in the last six weeks. We're all done with fresh-made meals for now but plans are in the works for more great food and extra special community focused events coming up.

If you are interested in getting in touch with me directly, please find me at mlmcvr9@gmail.com

I'm happy to discuss any feedback, future requests or catering needs.

Something New & Appreciated

Recently retired to Thetis Island?

The Thetis Island Volunteer Fire Department is looking for women and men who can commit to important and needed volunteering for the community by training to be a fire fighter.  Due to our islanders’ great vigilance and fire safety education, Thetis Island enjoys a very low structural and bush fire response.

However, we train diligently for safety and ready response. We also operate a well-trained and professional pre-hospital First Responder medical program to assist residents and visitors safely to the next level of care.   The community, through taxation, supports the fire department infrastructure, operations and training to Provincial and National standards.

We ask that you consider giving the community two or three years of service by joining the TIVFD and in return you will gain valuable skills and make lasting friendships. No experience is necessary.  The department supplies the equipment and trains once a week for two hours.  You need not be a super athlete but reasonably fit and your life experience in other fields and careers would enhance our skills base.

We are starting a new recruit training class soon, and welcome your interest in membership. You may have never thought of becoming a fire fighter before, but all of our present members hadn’t either until they came out and discovered they could make a difference in others’ lives when they were having a bad day.

We will be holding a Question & Answer gathering on fire department membership at the Firehall on Mission Road on Thursday, September 19th, at 7pm.  Please consider attending.

Habitat Farm Turkeys

The Thetis Island Livestock Co-operative is raising healthy, non-GMO fed pastured turkeys in time for your Christmas feast!

Reserve your turkey with a deposit of $50, and pay the balance upon pickup. Your investment will secure your turkey and offset costs to farmers, as they carefully raise them to the highest standards over coming months.

This is a first request for expression of interest. Please email Elisabeth at info@jollityfarm.ca or call 250.416.6736.

More information about harvest options and cost details to follow soon.
