Thank You for Birte & Jule

Thank you to all who came forward and offered to take the girls to Nanaimo on Thursday.

It turned out the 8 am floatplane did take off so they didn't have to take the ferry over, but the generous response was really heartwarming.

They are now continuing on with their eastward journey.

Thank you :)

Ride to Duke Point Needed ~ for Thursday AM

Due to the smoke our seaplane was cancelled today. Because of that we would be really grateful if we could get a ride to Nanaimo (Duke Point) as soon as tomorrow morning (Thursday) so that we can get to Vancouver by taking the ferry.
You can contact us via mail (Birte.vollmer@googlemail.com) or phone (‭(250) 416-0674‬).

Thank you so much
Jule and Birte (wwoofers, currently staying with Anaïs and Travis)

Frankel ~ Farewell

Please, just one last chance to dance..............

To hear the music play, move our bodies and sway

Ah, yes, "wouldn't it be nice" to trip the night away

But, ya know, "ya can't always get what ya want".

So, it's tomorrow morning we sadly have to go

Time seems to be moving too fast and yet slow

On the ferry looking back at Thetis our tears will flow

Our hearts so full with this place those things we know

Dear Island you have been wonderful to us, what a gift you have given our family, friends, and our hearts!

May your lives be filled with, joy, health and wonderful, wonder-filled years ahead

Myla, Steve and Jacob

And of course; Sister Mary Bubbles, Francesca*, and the notorious, Osama-Frankee-Bin Loaded. I do hope our new community is welcoming to cross dressers like Thetis Island is!

*Note: “Francesca Stephane” would be happy to come back and give a presentation on; Ten Points to High Class X-Dressing, aka, Nothing off the Rack......Bookings can be made VIA TIRRA

Pilkey Point Cont'd

Further to the complaint about garbage at the end of Pilkey Point Road, it has been an exceptionally bad weekend for many people (approx 25 at the same time) encroaching on our property above the waterline, making a lot of noise for most of the day and then leaving garbage and cans hidden under rocks for us to pick up.

Last night around 11 pm teenagers were at the end of the road making a lot of noise who made inappropriate sexual comments when a flashlight was shone on them.  They eventually left around 11.30 burning rubber and also leaving garbage, cigarette butts and more.

Could those who have guests during the summer, please educate them on the danger of fire, the fact we don't have garbage removal, and for them to give some respect for those who live here.  We would not go into their front yards, make noise all day and then leave garbage behind.

Problems at Pilkey Point

At noon today we visited the 'scene of the crime' referred to in an earlier email which apparently had been cleaned up yesterday.

To our horror we discovered even more litter that included empty cans of hard iced tea, cigarette butts, cigarette packages and two piles of excrement! This is not acceptable and it's repulsive!

Everyone should be concerned about the extreme conditions which could spawn fires from cigarettes, to say nothing about the garbage problem and the disgusting excrement.

As well, burning rubber and skid marks were left in several places along north Pilkey Point Road.

If you have guests or family members who may be responsible please make them aware that this sort of behaviour is not the spirit of Thetis Island
