Seeking Dog Friendly Accommodation

Looking for Dog friendly accommodation on Thetis Island. I work for BC Ferries and will be coming here to work fairly frequently. I won’t have my dog everytime but would love to have her with me from time to time. She’s a wonderful dog, gentle, clean and well behaved. I take her everywhere and have never had any issues.

Please contact me at voyagerwendy@yahoo.ca if you have a pet friendly cottage etc. Will require a kitchen and laundry but that isn't a deal breaker.

Would love to hear from you soon

Cheers!

Wendy

Wanting House to Purchase

I want to first say, "THANK YOU".

My little girl and I recently moved to Thetis and your welcoming attitudes have been so refreshing and heart-warming. It takes a village to raise a child and the wonderful community on this Island seem to take this to heart.

But!!!  We need your help for us to remain in this incredible community.  I am looking to purchase a home and have been told, "e-spokes is the answer for most every problem." So, here is my first time on e-spokes.

If anyone thinks they might know of something or is possibly thinking of selling please let me know.

The phrases, " has potential, good bones, needs your imagination," these words are expected, since as a single parent my budget is on the lower end, (although cute and cozy works). I am also open to unique options, such as seller carried financing, raw property or other unique situations (a straight purchase is also fine). I am working closely with Deb Wilson so feel free to contact her if you need more information.

My current short-term rental is no longer available after May 31.

In the event I am unable to find a home to purchase before this time, I am also looking for a short-term rental. References both on and off island available.

Please call or email Elite 250-533-9347,   elite01@shaw.ca

danceXchange ~ March 17th

This event will be a "Vinyl Potluck" meaning our dance music will be created the old-fashioned way from vinyl records played on turntables (which is becoming a new trend!). And we will co-create the music menu together in "potluck" style, with our designated DJs hosting our menu and the guests bringing one or more records with favourite dance songs to share. We will explore reconnecting with special music from the past and sharing it with others, just like we might delight in sharing a dish made from a favorite recipe with friends. As with all danceXchanges, we will open and close with a brief circle to support our collective intentions for this event and share ideas for ones to come. The event is free of charge, free of drugs and alcohol, and open to everyone who wants to come together and share healthful movement in fun ways. Please remember to bring your water bottles and a favourite record! If you don't have any records, no problem, we will have extras for you to browse and pick songs from! And if you are able to bring a light snack to share (finger food that doesn't require kitchen use), that will be welcome. Most importantly, just bring YOU. For any questions, please contact Kelly at kelly_bannister@telus.net

More about danceXchange (a community collaborative that fosters positive change through dance and intentional movement):

danceXchange is a new community-based dance initiative on Thetis. The group holds regular (approx. monthly) educational dance and movement events for people of all ages and genders with goals of fostering inclusion, connection, healthful movement and fun!

We take turns teaching or facilitating with a cooperative approach to sharing, learning, and co-creating together in a welcoming drug-free and alcohol-free space. Our intention is to exchange with each other to foster positive change through dance and intentional movement. The name "danceXchange" evokes the idea of both "dance exchanges" and being "changed by dance." Everyone who likes our shared goals is welcome. danceXchange is currently energy-boosted by Kelly Bannister kelly_bannister@telus.net

Get to the Point ~ Reservations & Registration

Hello all,

Get to the Point is but a short two weeks away.

Click on the link to access the Reservations & Registration Form.  It can either be printed, or simply write the pertinent information in an email.  Send in with a cheque, or pay at the event.  Please honour your reservations & registrations, as this is a Fundraising Event for the Forbes Hall Expansion.

Get to the Point Reservation & Registration Form

Get to the Point has been held a few times before, and we are going back to its roots with a two-day event of meeting up with friends & family, and joining in the rare opportunity of walking the whole of the Thetis Island loop.
First off is a Lasagne Buffet (meat, veg & gluten free options), with Caesar Salad & Garlic Bread, finishing off with a wonderful Ice Cream Sundae Dessert Bar, custom made just the way you want it! Beverages will be available. Following the dinner will be a special social evening, with more information to follow.
Pioneer Pacific has generously offered skippered whaling boats to ferry us all from Alex & Pauline’s dock at the end of Pilkey Point, to the North Cove Jetty, where we’ll make a beach landing and continue our walk back to Forbes Hall.
T-shirts are being made, we’re getting ready to celebrate spring, and the Expansion of Forbes Hall!
Looking forward to seeing you at Get to the Point,
Ann Dickie
Co-chair, Forbes Hall Expansion Committee
