Notice to All Interested Community Members

There will be a meeting on Sunday afternoon at 4PM to go over how we are going to manage the packing up of Forbes Hall. 

There will be a walk-through to see the scope of the job ahead, and plan a practical approach for packing up.  

Looking for input from all, and ideas to make this as smooth a process as possible.

TIID: Notice of AGM ~ April 27th 11am

The Annual General Meeting of the Thetis Island Improvement District will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 27, 2019 at Thetis Island Elementary School, 291 North Cove Road, Thetis Island, BC

This public meeting is to receive the audited financial statements for 2018, to report on the operations of the Fire Department, the Improvement District, and whatever other items of business may be raised.

There will be a nomination and an election to fill one (1) trustee position. Bill Dickie has agreed to stand for this term. 

Please plan on attending the Thetis Island Improvement District AGM.

Moving Sale Continues

The moving sale continues at 161 Pilkey Point Road (Etcetera) this Saturday, from 11 am to 3 pm.

Household items, baking and cooking tools and appliances, crafts, gifts, cards, fashion etc. 

We will also be open on Sunday between 1 pm and 3 pm.

Not Instantaneous: Your Fire Permit

Please remember that Operators are NOT “standing by” to process and reply to your Fire Permit request instantaneously.   

We ask for you to plan ahead at least 24 to 48 hours before you need the permit.  We do not have a volunteer sitting at a computer 24/7 waiting for your application.

Does anybody have a used exterior door with or without frame that they are willing to part with/or sell.

Friends of Furries Towel Drive

Friends of Furries needs donations of old towels for an upcoming multi-day spay and neuter clinic on Penelakut Island being held by Canadian Animal Assistance Team.   

We anticipate 40 surgeries per day and each animal requires a warm clean towel for post-surgery recovery.

Hand Tools Wanted

If you are spring cleaning and have extra hand tools (saw, hammer, files etc.), your Fire Department would appreciate them.  We find we have very few tools at the hall and would like to have more on hand when we are repairing or building things.  There will be a box by the “new” front door, if you want to drop any off. 

(We don’t have the ability to “fix” tools, so they have to be usable).

Walk, cycle or run around Thetis in support of the Forbes Hall Expansion and Upgrade.

8:30 - 9:45 am: Registration in the hall. Muffins, fruit and coffee will be available.

10:00 AM: Walk begins from Forbes Hall.

Registration Fees: 

• Adults, and children 6 and over: $30 each (includes one merchandise item per person)

• Children 5 and under: Free (no merchandise item) 

• Family (up to 4): $90 (includes one merchandise item per person) 

Registration Options: 

• Mail completed form and payment. Registration forms to be delivered to mailboxes today.
