Monday, April 8, 2019 at 10:13AM NVW is a time to celebrate and thank Canada’s 12.7 million volunteers.
This year's theme is: The Volunteer Factor - Lifting Communities.
The Volunteer Factor celebrates and recognizes the exponential impact of volunteers and how they lift our communities.
Many thanks to all Thetis Island volunteers, each and everyone.
Your valued gift of time makes our community a better place to live.

Monday, April 8, 2019 at 10:11AM Thetis Island Marine Association Annual General Meeting
This Thursday, April 11th - 7:30 pm
Monday, April 8, 2019 at 10:10AM The Bannisters are coordinating topsoil sale, and delivery to Thetis Island as part of the Nanaimo Track and Field Club annual topsoil sale and fundraiser.
As in previous years, topsoil is from Cinnabar Valley Farms. The fundraiser supports travel, equipment and facility maintenance for the track club. Katia has been an active member of the club for two years and was thrilled last year to compete in the BC Summer Games. This year Katia and Ron have both joined the club so we look forward to a doubly great season. The sale and offer of delivery to Thetis Island is the same as last year:
40 lb bag of topsoil delivered to Thetis is $6/bag (delivery first week of May - date to be confirmed)
Orders can be placed by email: bannister.katia@gmail.com or phone: 250-246-9753 (leave message)
Payment in advance appreciated by cash, cheque (made out to Katia Bannister) or e-transfer.
Order deadline: April 25
Alternatively, for those not needing delivery to Thetis, purchases can be made directly online by going to the NTFC website. For direct orders, a 40 lb bag is $5 and pickup or delivery options are listed along with the order information: https://www.nanaimotrackandfield.com/soil-sale
Thank you again for supporting Nanaimo Track and Field Club in the past and we hope you will consider supporting us again this year.
Sincerely, the Bannisters

Sunday, April 7, 2019 at 11:11AM Many months ago a tall straight fir tree fell at the corner of my property on Pilkey and Sunrise. I donated it to the Hall Expansion.
Wasn't I surprised to find it bucked up and piled at the bottom of the hill! Hmm?
