Annual General Meeting
Forbes Hall
Thursday October 19th, 7:30 pm
All are welcome.
Forbes Hall
CHILDREN & FAMILIES at 9:15 am.
ADULTS at 9:45 to 10:45.
Adults can come earlier than your start time, but children and families will be served first. The VIHA nurses have to catch the Flu Shot Clinic ends at 10:45 because the VIHA nurses will be out the door to catch the 10:50. So no stragglers!
As in the past, the terrific TIVFD Auxiliary will be delighting you with their coffee service goodies while you wait the required ten minutes after your inoculation.
We hope you will support this Flu Shot Clinic, which shows VIHA there is a need for community medical services on our island. This Clinic is made possible by your volunteer fire fighters and the TIVFD Auxiliary and supported financially by the Thetis Island Community Fund.

I’m hoping someone out there on Thetis or in cyberspace sees this ad and calls to say, yes, I have an orphaned, single 6-foot oar I’d be willing to sell or part with. It doesn’t matter if its left-handed or right!
Please call me at 250-246-8176 or send me an email:gedworks@islandnet.com
A pair would work, too.
I am the Coordinator for the Shoebox Project for Women in Shelters for Nanaimo and area. www.shoeboxproject.com/Nanaimo
We would love to include the community of Thetis Island in this years drive. We support Haven Society, Samaritans House and Nanaimo Women’s Resource Center. We are looking for $50.00 (brand new items) wrapped in lovely Christmas shoeboxes (detachable lids) to donate. We ask that they are items that make a women feel special. Pretty Scarves, Winter Mitts, Gift Cards, Body Lotion, Jewelry, Lipstick, Lip Balm, NO Candles or items that can harm. There is a lot of distress for women who end up in a shelter and this helps to eliminate any anxiety, stress or shame they may be feeling. They really feel the love from community and helps to lessen those feelings. You can reach me Trish Scoular at nanaimo@shoeboxproject.com
or Alana DeLong (my assistant).
I love Thetis Island it’s my home away from home, to unwind and relax in.

Please do not bring any clothes, shoes, or cloth materials to our Free Store (rodents love that stuff!). Instead take them to the Chemainus Thrift Store.
Please do not bring books or magazines to the Free Store. The 49th Parallel General Store, near the Chemainus Ferry, will happily take them.
The Volunteers and Staff of the Solid Waste yard DEEPLY APPRECIATE everyone who has been cleaning their recyclable materials prior to bringing them to the Solid Waste yard.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to call 250-246-2099.
