Interested in a 1 day Workshop in Watercolours?
Last winter I drove to Victoria to take watercolour classes. I enjoyed it so much that I asked the instructor Richard Wong if he would consider doing a workshop on Thetis Island for us. He is a marvellous step-by-step instructor in using the Chinese brush and Masa paper. At this point I am just taking names of those interested. If there is enough interest we will give more info on cost and date. Potential one day dates are Sept. 1, Nov. 4,5,12, Dec. 9 or 10
Please email Rita Springer if you are interested at: rita@shaw.ca
The TIVFD will be operating on North Cove Road between the school and Hunters' Pond on Saturday from 10 am to about 1 pm for a wildfire drill. Please obey the Traffic Control personnel on the road. Delays will be minimal but we need to operate safely. Thank you for your patience.

The Thetis Island Family Fun Day is going to be an afternoon and early evening of games and activities for all ages
There will be a BBQ with hamburgers & hotdogs, non-alcoholic beverages and ice cream bars!
There will be a balloon sale raffle and a silent pie auction! Maybe a dunk tank (?)
Guests are also asked to bring a non-perishable food item for the Chemainus Food Bank.
This event is jointly hosted by the Thetis Island Community Association and Thetis Island Community Fund.
The monies raised at the Family Fun Day will support these two community based organizations so they may continue their valuable contributions to the island.
