Weather Update for this Weekend

Please be prepared for possible power outages and continuing bitter cold. This is the latest update from Emergency Management BC.  Some trees damaged by the December storm may be vulnerable.

TIVFD

Weather Event Details:

·       There is the potential for snowfall to be heavier than this past weekend.

·        A weather system is on its way from the northwest, beginning on Thursday and lasting until Saturday.

·       After a slight warming on Wednesday, Arctic air will re-intensify over the South Coast towards the end of the week and support snow down to sea-level.

·     Flurries may begin as early as Thursday but dry lower levels of the atmosphere will keep accumulations light and snow flurries intermittent.

·       A low pressure system is expected to approach the South Coast on Friday delivering another round of low-elevation snow.

·       East Vancouver Island could see similar snow squall (ocean-effect) conditions as were experienced last Sunday.

·       The cold air will persist through the weekend.  Any snow that does fall will remain for a few days.

·       Temperatures are expected to begin to moderate late next week but will remain below seasonal values likely through the 3rd week of February.

Taking Stuff without Permission is Called Stealing

Firewood logs STACKED NEATLY beside roads come from private property and are not free for the taking.

This is not the first time prepared firewood logs have been taken from my property and I'm getting pretty sick of it.

Work Wanted

Good morning fine folks of Thetis.

My name is Jason, some of you may remember me from the pub. Due to unfortunate circumstances I have left that position and am in search of any sort of work to fill the void.

While living in Nanaimo, I made a very good name for myself doing landscaping/yard work. I am very versatile and willing to do all sorts of work.

I have demossed roofs, and cleaned gutters.

Unfortunately I do not have alot of tools, but am open to any work you may have to offer. I only charge $15/hr as well, i want to keep it reasonable, and affordable.

So please feel free to email me at jason_elias@live.ca, call me at 778-269-3067 or message me on Facebook too, thank you for reading & I hope to hear from some/all of you :)

Missing: Red Toque and Brown Gloves

Wondering if I dropped my red toque and brown gloves at or around the library on Sunday .  Could also have dropped on a walk ?

For some silly reason I only have one toque on Thetis.  So could use it if found

Thanks.

Grand Opening of the Dingly Dell Trail

Grand Opening of the Dingly Dell Trail Sunday, February 17th, 1:00 p.m.

Our trail network is growing!

The Dingly Dell Trail runs from Pilkey Point Road at Jollity Farm to join up with the Lawrence Valley Trail.

This more challenging trail runs through Jollity Farms, Meadow Valley and Dickie property - special thanks to the property owners for providing us with excellent exercise through such beautiful scenery. Designated parking is available at Jollity Farm for those who drive to the trail while those who walk there can access the trail from Pilkey Point Road.

Due to safety concerns there will be no parking on Pilkey Point Road.
