Lives Behind the Headstones

St. Margaret’s Cemetery Board extends a big thank you to the Thetis Island community for coming out to celebrate the launch of the 20th Anniversary edition of The Lives Behind the Headstones and to honour Sheila Kelsey the editor and spirit behind the book. About 60 people attended the tea on Sunday afternoon July 14 at Forbes Hall. Sheila, our guest of honour greeted and signed over 65 copies of the book 53 of which were sold and the rest given as gifts to members of the community who helped with the production of the book, as well as to those who have served the cemetery in various ways through out the years. Special thanks to the Thetis Island Historical and Cultural Society for their donation which facilitated the republishing of the book; to Merry Gooding for her wonderful flowers; to Chocolate Lilies catering and to all those who helped out set up and take down the hall. Special kudos to Janice Young who initiated this event and who spent many long hours working with the Liz Traer at Copycats Printing & Design and collaborating with the Board getting this edition prepared.  The 20th Anniversary edition of Lives Behind the Headstones, now digitally enhanced with many added colour features, is presently available for purchase at the Post Office, with other outlets coming soon.

Congratulations to Sheila Kelsey, Janice Young, Simone Luckham and Suzanne Sarioglu for the successful launch of the 20th Anniversary Edition of Lives Behind the Headstones.

Thanks Den Kelsey for these photos.
