ThINC Nature House Reboot - We want your ideas!

After two seasons of Covid-related restrictions, we’re happy to be able to offer a full summer program of nature and community food security education. Our 2022 summer program fires up Saturday, July 2nd and will have something for everyone, of all ages, residents and visitors.

To help us with our summer programming, we’ve hired Connelly Stirling to run our art- and science-based Nature House program, and Linnea Barrett to deliver community food security education workshops and maintain the People’s Apothecary Garden. Stop by the ThINC table at the Howling Wolf Summer Market on Saturdays and say hi to Connelly. Linnea will start in July.

As we are still developing the summer calendar, we would love to hear your ideas on what you’d like to see in terms of workshops and activities. Also, if you would like to share your nature-related expertise (conduct a workshop for the Nature House program), get in touch! Please respond to Connelly by Monday, June 13th at connelly@thetisislandnatureconservancy.org.

Once finalized, we will put out a full program calendar on our website, our Facebook Page, the Thetis Blog, eSPOKES, and posters around the island. ThINC’s summer programs are made possible through the generosity of the Porter family who donate the use of the Nature House, the Government of Canada Summer Jobs program, the Province of British Columbia, the Thetis Island Community Fund, and Friends of the Nature House memberships. To become a Friend of the Nature House, which includes admission to most programs, visit our website: www.thetisislandnatureconservancy.org.

Thank you,

Charlotte,

ThINC Education and Stewardship Coordinator
