Our volunteer team helps monitor two Forage Fish species, Sand Lance and Surf Smelt, every month to help identify where they are present. Mount Arrowsmith Biosphere Reserve Research Institute researcher Alanna Vivanni will demonstrate how samples are collected, talk about lab analyses that find the Forage Fish embryos, and discuss the findings of their research thus far!
2:00 pm start: Junior Biologist - Micro-mazing at the Nature House (kids 8 - 12)
This week we will discover the amazing world of microorganisms, which can only be seen through the microscope! First, we will collect samples from the ocean and forest, then we will set up the microscopes and discover what we found!
