Contacting the Fire Department
Wednesday, May 3, 2023 at 7:29AM Everybody knows that 9-1-1 is the number to call in an EMERGENCY. But what if you think the issue isn’t really an emergency but you still think the Fire Department should be aware of it? That’s when you should phone the Duty Officer at 250-252-0228 or the Fire Chief at 250-252-0544. Those cell phones are answered 24/7 .
The Fire Hall phone (246-4834) is not answered 24/7 and in fact, some messages left on voice mail may not be accessed for a few days. Call the Duty Officer or Chief’s cell and we can advise you on how to proceed.
If a tree has come down on the hydro lines call 911 directly. The Duty Officer will be paged out to investigate if there is no fire, and the department will be paged out you see sparks or fire.
