Forbes Hall Expansion Approved!

On Saturday, February 10^th, TICA held a Special Members’ Meeting to discuss and vote on “going ahead” with the construction of the expansion & renovations of Forbes Hall.  The motion passed with 94% in favour.  We’d like to thank everyone who has been involved so far in the planning of this exciting project, and those that have agreed to join in on the next phase.   There will be opportunities soon for the general public to view the plans. 

The Fundraising Campaign kicked off yesterday, and there will be events organized to enhance the campaign. Click here for information about the February 24th Community Dinner. 

TICA has been gifted a “matching” donation of up to $200,000 for 2018.  Every dollar donated, raised, and received through grants will be matched up to that amount, so remember that every dollar you give will be doubled.  

All cheques should be made out TICA, and mailed to:

Tax receipts will be issued for amounts $25 + over.  Please include your name and address.

As well, an Online Payment program will be up and running within the near future.

Disco Duds

This is a weird request but I'm attending my stepdaughter's 50th birthday disco party on Saturday and I've been told in no uncertain terms that I must arrive attired in a disco-era costume.

Of course, usually dressed in jeans and t-shirts, I have no platform shoes or boots (size 6 or 7), wildly coloured mini-dresses, bell-bottom pants or headbands, so if you've been hiding your Dancing Queen disco fetish in a closet just waiting for the right occasion, and wouldn't mind lending some duds to me for a day, I'd be grateful.

1st Event of the Forbes Hall Fundraising Campaign ~ Community Dinner ~ February 24th

Join us for a dinner with friends and neighbours as we gather at Forbes Hall for a late winter meal.  We have created 2 different menus to choose from, as well as a child’s menu.

At this event, we will run through our plans for the campaign, and will be there to answer any questions about the expansion.  However the main intent is to join with family, friends & neighbours to celebrate our loving community.

Reservation cut-off is February 18th.  Call us if you need to add in someone after the 18th   We’ll see if we can fit them in.

Car for Sale & Other Items

Hi Thetis islanders :) I have a Black Chevy Cavalier that was kindly sold to me for cheaper than its worth when I was in need and I'd like to pay it forward now that I've up graded.  Does anyone need a very reliable beater car?

I got new front breaks done and put a new battery in it, the tires are almost new as well.  Both heater and AC work just fine. 

It started up every time and runs really well, no fluid leaks and all exterior lights work. 

The hood is dented from a little deer but otherwise the only thing wrong with the exterior is that the paint is fading.
