We've received a postcard which was addressed to our mailbox but not to us. It was addressed, cryptically, to "K & R" and signed "Doug & Marilyn". So if you have friends of that name who have been on holiday in Hawaii (Kauai), it is probably yours. Give us a call if so - 250 246 1509

FILM...ISLANDS IN TRUST
Thanks to everyone for the moral and financial support given to the Gulf Islands Alliance (GIA) and our new film Islands in Trust. If you missed it on the big screen at Wednesday's Soup's On, take a look. It's only 12 minutes. By islands' standards, it's going viral with more than 2,000 hits already and counting. If you wish to know more about GIA, I'm at thetisteen@gmail.com or call 246-3530.

Rabies, in bats, has been identified this autumn in the Cowichan Valley. I was personally involved with one such case in a bat caught b a domestic cat. Clients are therefore urged to update their animal's rabies vaccination status. Vaccinations are normally administered at 3 year intervals as adults and 1 year after initial inoculation.
The next veterinary visit will be on Wednesday, December 21st. Please email erskine2814@outlook.com or hone 250 436 0045 for an appointment.

A reminder that most wrapping paper is not recyclable unless it is the type made from brown craft paper or tissue paper.
Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from the SWM Committee!

Edith Hyatt is pleased to inform you that her new cat has been found! Lilly had been hiding in the house the whole time, and eating the visiting foster cat’s food and using the litter box, so had not been starving or cold…just very shy. Edith thanks you for your concern. (The live trap they put outside with cat food bait worked well for a greedy and embarrassed raccoon.)
