My bank has locked me out of my bank account and need to go to a TD branch. Is there anyone going to Duncan or Nanaimo this week as I need to get into a branch to show id before they will unlock my account. Only need to do this and then can head back to Chemainus.

Looking for Plastic Primer

Winter Weekend Pub Specials

We're as excited as you are: 

The pub is officially open Thursday to Sundays 11:30-7 serving our regular menu including beer battered fish and chips and all your faves! 

And starting this weekend, we are once again offering weekend specials on Friday and Saturday nights and Prime Rib dinner on Sunday.

This weekend's specials are:

Appy:  Creamy Sambuca prawns with fettuccine

Main:   Apple, sage and goat cheese stuffed pork chop, double cut with cauliflower potato mash, black pepper and cider jus and pan seared asparagus

Dessert:  Homemade cherry crumble with almond crumble topping   Served with vanilla ice cream.

Sunday:  Prime Rib Dinner.      

            Grass fed prime rib with red wine gravy and seasonal vegetables served in a Yorkie bowl 28-

Plan to come in and celebrate with us.

Wood Chips Needed for the People’s Apothecary Garden

Hello everyone,

We’ve just added a new path at the PAG and are looking for wood chip donations to fill it. The path is approximately 12 feet long, 3 feet wide, and 1 foot deep.

Recycling and Garbage Notice

A gentle reminder to the community not to bring your garbage and recycling to the marina for disposal. 

We are seeing an increase in mixed recycling being left in our refundable bins, which are only for the use of marina customers. When this happens, a staff member has to go through the bins and pull out everything that isn't refundable and clean and of course we have to pay to have garbage hauled off the island. 

At this time, your non-refundable recycling must be taken to Peerless or Bing's Creek for recycling.

Art Show: Merry Gooding

Thetis Islander Merry Gooding and her friend America Leal are currently showing their art at the restaurant Just Jake's in Duncan. 

They have 45 colourful, mostly abstract paintings up, large and small. So, if you are in Duncan and need a break, consider popping in for lunch or coffee or just to take a look. 

Their show is on until November 22nd. Prices range from $15 to $100. If, by chance, something seizes your fancy just pay at the restaurant, lift the painting down and take it home with you.
