Scam Alert

Here's the latest (attempted) ploy.

Phone calls from "RBC" asking to speak to ________, in this case it was our son.

The real live person saying; "They need to get in touch with,_________, very important we speak to him/her"

The number on your display may appear as a; 1-800, or, even 1-604 (mainland BC.). RCMP suggests, "you note number and hang-up, and contact them" ***

I recently reported this to our RCMP Liaison, Staff Brissard,

Ladysmith Detachment. Ken advised me this is a "new one" for them. He followed up by contacting RBCs Media/Fraud Department.***

BTW: Ken and his partner are hoping to join our resident's for Soup's On, in the very near future. We will keep you posted.

Many THANKS to Ken Brissard for his support

Topsoil Order Full

Thank you so much to everyone who has placed a topsoil order with the Bannisters in support of the Nanaimo Track and Field Club annual fundraiser.

Amazingly, we have unexpectedly reached close to our max capacity to transport (6000 lbs) within the first couple days! We will be able to fit a few more bags but will have to close orders once our max is reached.

But what a wonderful 'problem' to have, thank you Thetis Islanders!
