Phase 1 and Phase 2 Taxation Reports now Available
A background report and its consequent final report have been prepared for the Thetis Island community by Paul Duncan. This work was done in conjunction with the Infrastructure Task Group (TIID, TICA, TIRRA, TIPC), as part of our ongoing relationship building with the CVRD.
They are now posted here the Front Page (right hand side), direct links are also below.
All questions that may arise from the reports should be directed to Paul Duncan at paulduncanvictoria@shaw.ca

Tuesday is the start of the school year. What does that mean for you?
It means there will be children on our roadways walking, biking, accompanying mums/dads with strollers, scooting, and possibly not being as aware of traffic as they should be.
It means you MUST slow down and obey the speed limit on North Cove Road by the school.
It means that you should slow down everywhere else in case there is a child around that blind corner.
It means the days are shortening, grey weather is coming, and we need to keep everyone safe on the roads.

The TICA Library is open Monday 10-1, with a Friend of the Library available to help you.
We are still working on getting the collection online. Whew! The adult DVDs are in the system. Not the foreign language ones yet.

All members of the public are encouraged to attend. With representatives from nineteen island organizations, and an agenda of updates and discussions on current concerns or issues, it will be an informative meeting.
Finalized agenda will be posted on e-spokes and thetisposts.ca within the week prior to September 23rd.

Wormwood… a plant you’d expect to go into a witch’s cauldron.
This highly aromatic plant produces frills of silvery-green foliage, and when used sparingly (small doses only!), it is said to help with various digestive issues from upset stomach to intestinal spasms.
It has also been used to treat fever by stimulating sweating. What it is most known for is its contribution to powerful liquors - vermouth and absinthe.

Welcome to September!
We’re looking forward to seeing your photo submissions for the 2025 follow-up to this year’s beautiful Thetis Island Calendar.
Browse through photos you’ve taken in the past; maybe take a few more within the next few weeks! We will be doing a “Thetis through the Seasons” calendar for 2025 and are excited to see some beautiful images.
You can start sending them as soon as you like, we’ll hold them in a file until early fall when we will sort through them finding the special 12+ to create 2025’s calendar.
Images to be 1 MB or larger, send to info@forbeshall.ca
We're looking forward to seeing what Islanders have been snapping!
Thanks to those who have already sent theirs in...
