Goosey Gander Shop Final Weekend

Today and Sunday are the last days of the Season for the Goosey Gander Shop with 50% off most everything in the Shop courtesy of your generous Thetis island neighbours.

A crazy 237 items found new homes last weekend when the ‘half off’ sale started, from packets of beads to a full set of china; but there are still so many amazing deals to be had.

Come by and have a look, find a treasure, and have a very Happy Thanksgiving too!

The Shop will be open 10am to 4pm both Saturday and Sunday at 73 Pilkey Point Road.

Thank you,

Nan Beals

Thetis and Nuclear Madness by David Steen

TICA’s board meeting agenda on October 7, 2025 was too full to hear me request its support for the United Nations campaign to ban all nuclear weapons.

Here it is: Imagine being locked in a house with a person who might kill you if you show weakness or drop your guard. Each of you has a can of gas. To ignite one in an attack or defense will incinerate you both. Our house is our world. Our gas is nuclear weapons. The risk it will destroy us increases by the day. To believe nuclear annihilation can’t happen -- that no nation is crazy enough to light the match -- or even that nuclear war can be contained and prove victorious for one side are dangerous delusions. Objective observers of history and psychology know that acts of madness and mistakes are inevitable. With nuclear weapons, the horrific consequences defy imagination.

PAG Helpers Wanted + Last Weekend for the Seaquarium

Hello Thetis Islanders!

It’s your last chance this season to visit the Sea Life Centre and Seaquarium at Telegraph Harbour Marina! Come say goodbye to our amazing marine ambassadors before they head off for a well-earned rest.

Open Hours:
Friday, Oct 10: 10AM - 1PM
Saturday, Oct 11: 12PM - 2PM
Sunday, Oct 12: 10AM - 2PM

Meanwhile, over at The People’s Apothecary Garden (PAG, Lot 62) - the season is winding down too! Just three drop-in days left before the garden goes to sleep for the winter.
Drop-In Hours:
Saturday, Oct 11: 9AM - 11AM

What’s happening at the PAG?

Come harvest a variety of culinary herbs: oregano, thyme, rosemary, plus mints and lemon balm - perfect for cozy winter teas.

Grab some of the last remaining seeds to get a head start on next year’s planting.

We could use a hand!

This week’s garden prep includes light weeding and pruning - extra help is always appreciated as we tuck the garden in for winter.

Kindly,
The ThINC Team
