Looking for Part-time Work

My name is Ori. I'm new to Thetis, volunteering on Jollity Farm, learning all about sustainable farming. I am in need of a vehicle, so i'm looking to make a bit of money to put towards a used car. I am eager to help out with any gardening, weeding, mowing, house cleaning, painting, firewood, child care, cooking or any other odd jobs around the house. I'm honest, reliable, hard-working, great with kids and have a variety of other skills to offer, such as graphic design if needed. I'm usually available after 3pm on weekdays and any time on weekends. I would be happy to provide references upon request.

Please contact me at: ohaimovici@gmail.com
Thanks,
Ori

Dave's Retirement

Dave and I would like to thank everyone for your cards and well wishes upon his retirement. It has meant a lot to us.

While he is no longer with B.C. Ferries he will still be busy with our excavating business. It is not in his nature to be idle.

Thanks again, Thetis Islanders.

This Week's Nettle Recipe

Did you know that the 'nettle' and 'net' share a linguistic root because nettle fiber made the strongest fishing nets? So which came first, the nettle or the net??? In fact some linguistic historians think that nets are named after the plant, rather than the other way around.

Here is this week's featured recipe, which I haven't tried yet but plan to this weekend!

http://honest-food.net/2013/04/21/nettle-ravioli-recipe/

Order your nettles by Tuesday or Friday mornings to pick up Wednesday or Saturday at the recycling yard! $5/lrg ziplock bag.

We are starting on this year's version of the Visitors' Guide (click here to view last year's).  I have sent a reminder email to those who were in there last year, but if you don't hear from me directly and would like to be included, or if you have any questions, please get in touch!  I need to know as soon as possible how many are interested, and will need the final wording of your ad by March 15th.

Thank you!
