Dear Beloved Teddy ~

Now is your Time to fly with the eagles, dance through the stars, swim in the bioluminescence, laugh with the wind, sing with joy and peace and health. Your Trip, here on Earth, has been filled with strength, courage, wisdom, curiosity, humour, compassion, love, concern, guidance and faith - and now your Journey continues.  You make the Way for us to follow as you have done so often for so many of us.  We love you and you are in our hearts as we are in yours. Take to the Sky, the Earth and Sea - Everywhere, dear Teddy.  Just think - Everywhere with Everyone you want to see and hold.
Safe Journey, Dear One.  Go with God.

Teddy instructed us to not hold a memorial service on Island.  In spite of being vivacious and socially/community minded, Teddy was also a very private Spirit.  Thank you for your thoughtful and heartfelt condolences.

Merry & Arthur Gooding

A Moment of "Fun" Left a Serious Problem

Imagine coming to your little school on a snowy winter day to find your playing field and edges of your new playground chewed up with tire tracks from the night before.

As most people know we have recently invested thousands of dollars of government and community money and many volunteer hours to create a proper playground and playing area at our school for use by the whole community. While vandalism and mischief of this magnitude doesn't happen very often on Thetis, when it does it is hard to comprehend. We work so hard and lovingly as a community to put things in place for our young ones, our older ones and for everyone in between.

But it is even harder to know what to do about it. Do the parents undertake a forensic search to match up tire tracks with tire treads to locate suspects? Do we get the police involved? How do we work through conflict like this in our small community?

There is no win-win. Unless those who were involved take responsibility for the damage caused by their actions, we live with sadness, anger, confusion, and suspicion. Our school community is suffering because of a thoughtless moment of "fun".

We are asking if you were involved or if you have information about the incident, that you come forward and do the right thing, which is to make it right, whatever that takes.

Kelly Bannister, saddened school parent

Christmas Concert ~ looking for goodies & food bank donations

The Christmas concert will take place on Tuesday, December 16th at 7:30 pm at the Community Centre. Doors open at 7 pm.

We have a wonderful list of performers lined up,  including the Thetis Island Elementary School. It is going to be a special evening! As usual there will be coffee, juice and goodies at the end of the concert, so if you feel like it please bring some savoury or sweet treats to add to the table. Much appreciated.

There is also a collection for the Harvest House food bank, non-perishable items can be left  in the cardboard box in the entrance.

Looking forward to seeing you.
