Some of you may have heard the CBC North by Northwest and BC Today interviews this past weekend with Lasqueti Islander Sheila Harrington about her new book Voices for the Islands: Thirty Years of Nature Conservation in the Salish Sea. Sheila included an entire chapter about ThINC and our conservation efforts as the youngest conservation organization in the Salish Sea. Sheila will be launching her book at Forbes Community Centre on August 18 at 2 pm. Please put this exciting event on your calendar. Sheila will have books available for sale.

Hi folks,
I believe this has already been shared on e-Spokes, but it’s a great solution to reduce overheating issues at a personal residence. So, please share this with other groups, friends, family, and neighbours. For those who fit the criteria, here is a portable AC. See this link.

We have contacted Van Isle Windows in Nanaimo for an onsite assessment of our window replacement options and get a free quote/consultation.
Their Sales rep will be coming to Thetis on July 25th. In respect for his travel time and expenses, we are advising other islanders of his visit. If you have window needs, please contact Bob Dubois bdubois@vanislewindows.com . He is away on vacation for the next week or so.
