Meat Order in Stock!

Hello! Telegraph Harbour Meat Customers:

The week’s meat order is in!

I'll price and display asap. As always, if you have something you'd like to order in please let me know. We pass on our wholesale price when purchasing whole processor packaged cuts or whole cases. If you'd like a hand, I'll help cut down something for you so you can learn alongside.

*Dino Ribs* If you had Dino ribs on order, I believe they are in this order: I haven't quite laid my hands on the box yet, but I'll unpack it! I have saved aside several for people who asked between orders.

*Chicken* I managed to get some *really* nice, high quality chicken thighs, in packages of four. This line is normally sold through Whole Foods, one of our marina customers / friends was able to divert some to us. Boxes of eight packages (24 thighs) are $58, individual packages are $7.79

*Top Sirloin* In other news, we have Top Sirloin finally! For those of you looking for a cutting tutorial, I'd be happy to help you cut one up so that you can see how to do it in your own next time. This is the best flavour / dollar cut I've found to date.

*Ground Meats* A restock of the ground meats (Grassfed ground Beef, and Venison) is in this load. Along with the special request for eye of round at a low price for jerky and other lean meat projects.

We also have reloaded on the grass-fed + cured + smoked farmer sausage, those were very popular. I've also brought in several uncooked sausages on trial. If you grab some, your reviews are appreciated to guide future orders.

Whew! Quite to update.

But thank you for working as a community to make these group purchases possible.

IMPORTANT: Noon Hour Supervisor Needed

Please consider applying even if you currently don't have the first aid requirement.

The Noon hour supervisor (NHS) means so much more to our school than simply supervising the students for an hour. Let me explain: Normally I take all my breaks while the NHS is present. This maximizes my support time in the classroom and gives the teacher and me time to plan and discuss school related issues. Without a NHS I supervise the kids, and then I take my breaks afterwards. Consequently, the students and the teacher will lose 1 hour of my support, and the teacher and I don't have any opportunity to collaborate. You can see that the NHS plays a very important role in the overall well-being of students and staff!

So please, consider applying even if you currently don't have the first aid requirement. Our principal Mrs. Bradley will try to have it approved with the course work pending. If there is a financial barrier to attend the course, she will work out the cost and can be reached at ibradley@sd79.bc.ca to discuss this further. This can also be a shared position. You can directly apply with your resume to: apply@sd79.bc.ca (Job details: Mo-Fr, 11:30 am -12:30 pm. The hourly wage is $28.95; you must have a grade 12 education, a valid driver’s licence and First Aid.)

If you have any questions, you're welcome to stop by the school. 11:30 - 12:30 would be best.

Or you can contact the teacher Sarah Lucchetti: slucchetti@sd79.bc.ca

Thank you so much!

BOO! Hallowe’en Reminder

Hallowe’en Event at Forbes Hall on Thursday, October 31st from 6:00 until 7:30

One of the favourite parts for children at Hallowe’en is Trick or Treating. At this event, folks that like to see Trick or Treaters are encouraged to bring their treats to the hall. Following the costume parade, the kids will walk by a Trick or Treat line. If you are planning on handing out treats, this will be a great opportunity!

A safe, warm, dry space for children of all ages (this includes adults if they’re up for it) to share their costume creativity with other islanders.

If there are any folks who love carving pumpkins and want to show them off, just get in touch with David.
Looking forward to seeing you on the 31st !
