Latest Meat Order Update

Hello eFolks of eSpokes!

The most recent meat order has arrived at Telegraph Harbour. We got another great buy on the beef cheeks, I cooked some of these up last week and they were just immensely flavorful and silky.

We've also topped up the Heritage New York Striploin, and the grass-fed grass finished top sirloin.

New arrivals are a beef dinner sausage (slightly larger, and a different flavor profile than the smaller ones we have) and some chop House beef burgers identical to the ones we used for the community barbecue this year. Absolutely delicious.

We're running out of room in the meals to go freezer to display all the options, so if there's something mentioned here that interests you, but you don't see it in the freezer; ask! There is likely back stock in the walk-in freezer.

If anyone has special requests for the coming week, please let me know. We are hoping to get allocation for grass-fed grass finished beef liver, kidney, and heart. But supplies have been thin on the ground.

ThINC Help Needed

Subject: extra hands needed!

I'm looking for volunteers this Sunday, November 17th to help me prepare the people's apothecary garden for the winter!

There are two specific tasks that need doing:

1. Help load and unload one truck full of horse manure.

2. Drop off leaves at the PAG (lot 62 north cove road). If in bags, please drop off just inside the gate.

If you are able to help with either of these items, get in touch with me at charlotte@thetisislandnatureconservancy.org to discuss details!

Big thanks,

Charlotte, ThINC program coordinator.

The Christmas Market is getting closer! Are you about ready?

If you’re bringing a table, we will need it by 10:30 on Friday, November 29th so that we can be ready for everyone to set up.  If you’re unable to get it to the Hall at that time, let us know and we can pick it up.  Names will be on the tables and we will have chairs for vendors.

A few things to keep in mind to make your day go more smoothly:

  • Bring a cloth for your table.  Something plain will display your creations more clearly.
  • If you can display things at several levels (like a box under the cloth) it makes your table more interesting to look at.
  • Don’t put too much on the table - if the table is too cluttered, it’s hard to focus on individual items.
  • Feel free to publicize your creations.  We are proud of our artisans and want everyone to see the wonderful things they can make.
  • And don’t forget that float!

If you have any question, feel free to email us,
