Thank You to Saturday's Work Party Volunteers at Forbes Hall

Thank you to the volunteers who came to Saturday's work party at Forbes Hall.

Weeds were pulled, brambles cut back, windows and deck furniture washed, cupboards organized, then time for conversation with freshly baked cinnamon buns and coffee.

Many hands make light work!

Forbes Hall Fall Work Party: This Saturday, September 27 at 9:30 am

Come join us in tidying up the gardens and grounds at Forbes Hall readying them for the Autumn.

There may be an indoor job or two, as well.

There’s something for all capabilities, just need your willingness to help.

Bring gloves, any necessary safety gear, a couple of extra wheelbarrows would be great, and any favourite tools!

Treats and coffee at the end, always with good conversation!

Thanks,
TICA Board

Coastal Fire Weather Weekend Forecast

It’s looking good (depending on your point of view) for significant rain this weekend. Depending on the timing and amount (stay tuned to ESPOKES) we may open up for campfires again.

We will post as soon as the data comes in from our fire weather stations.

Weather Forecast

SYNOPSIS: A series of frontal systems will impact B.C. over the next several days, delivering cooler temperatures, rain and strong winds. Friday brings the arrival of a strong Pacific storm off the coast. Moderate to heavy rain for the North and Central Coast, along with North and West Vancouver is expected, along with strong winds for coastal sections of Haida Gwaii, North and Central Coast. Wind gusts will be in the 30-60 km/h range. More rain will fall in the Central Coast and the northern portions of the South Coast Thursday.

OUTLOOK:
Saturday to Monday
A slow-moving front will likely to set up from South Coast into the Columbia Region on Saturday. Winds will take a step back with less gusting than Friday. Temperatures will continue to be seasonal or slightly below. Persistent light to moderate rain is forecast for the Northshore Mountains, Howe Sound and Sunshine Coast.

Sunday will see another storm hit the coast. There looks to be significant rainfall for central and northern zones. Winds will once again increase, gusting 30-50 km/h for most of the Coastal Fire Centre. On Monday, the back end of the system will linger, producing showers and light rain but lighter winds.
