Friday, May 29, 2026 at 8:34AM The Province is continuing to allow evening campfires. If you are already holding a TIVFD campfire permit for May it will be extended to June 15th. There is no need to reapply.
If you do not already have a TIVFD campfire permit that ends on May 31, apply to permits@thetisislandfire.ca with your name, lot number, phone number and acknowledgement that you have read the Provincial rules for campfire size, tools and water required at the site, monitoring the fire and sparks, and complete extinguishment of the embers remaining at the end of the burn. Do not light your campfire in windy conditions.
Be aware that the Province may ban campfires during this period at any time due to conditions, and the TIVFD will post the notification on eSPOKES and on the Fire Hazard Board by the ferry.
Yard waste burns, burn barrels, tiki torches, etc are BANNED by the Province.
Please be very cautious with your campfire…our forest fuels are rapidly drying and heating up. Report all daytime smoke columns to 911.
WE ARE STILL IN HIGH HAZARD.
DAYTIME OUTDOOR HIGH HAZARD ACTIVITIES WITH GAS POWERED TOOLS AND/OR METAL BLADED EQUIPMENT THAT COULD PRODUCE SPARKS MUST CEASE BEFORE 1 PM AND A 2 HOUR FIREWATCH POSTED.

I have a package and some mail at the Thetis post-office, and I was hoping someone could pick it up and drop it off to me either in Crofton, or I can meet in Duncan.
I will sign a release for the post office.
Please email me at jasmine.e.anderson2024@gmail.com
or call or text 250-466-6974 on my partner’s phone number.
If you’re able to do that, please let me know
