Thetis Island Improvement District Draft Financial Statements

A reminder that the Improvement District Election and AGM will be held on Saturday May 4th at Forbes Hall.

The election poll will be open from 10 AM until 11 AM.
The AGM will start at 11 AM.

To be eligible to vote you need to be a Canadian Citizen, 18 years or older, a resident of BC for at least 6 months and an owner of property in the Improvement District. 

This year there are four individuals running for two vacant trustee positions. They are; alphabetical by last name:

Road Safety Group: May 13th visit by MOTI

Hi All,

MOTI lead guy (Ryan Gerow) is coming Monday the 29th to visit Thetis and go on a bit of a road tour with TIRRA President Gord Prescott.
They will arrive around 9AM off the 8:35 ferry.

We aren't looking for protestors...ha-ha, but if you and a few of your friends with walking or with bikes, horses and strollers....were out in the ferry corridor, school and North Cove to Forbes Hall area, to provide a visual as to the narrow roads, poor roadsides for walking, inability to walk on left...etc. You are encouraged to do so!

Thank you to Gord for arranging...I am going to be off island so cannot participate. Remember to get your friends involved!

Yard Waste Permits Extended

If you already have a yard waste fire permit to April 30th, we are extending it to May 15th.

You do not need to reapply…we have you on the list. If you do not have a yard waste fire permit, you can request one at www.thetisislandfire.ca and follow the link to “fire permits”.
If conditions change and we must rescind the permits we will contact you as well as post on e-SPOKES.

Please follow all burning regulations (size of fire, water on hand, tool etc.)
All yard waste fires must be supervised when burning and yard waste fires must be extinguished at least two hours before sunset. You MUST check the Venting Index before you light your yard waste fire.

If you have an evening campfire permit to April 30th already, we will automatically extend that to May 31st without you having to reapply. Please request a campfire permit if you are not on our list to April 30th.
