Thetis Island Pub Fall Hours

With the change of season, we at the Pub are also making a change to our hours.

Moving forward we will no longer be open on Mondays but we’re still open 11-7, Tuesday to Sunday.

Hope to see you all through the weeks ahead (excluding Mondays of course).

Island Library Hours at Forbes Hall Community Centre

The cozy island library is open Saturday 10-1, Sunday 1-4 and Monday 10-1. I have noticed a few items have been out a long time. Maybe it is time to look around for library materials that could be returned.

Cap 2025 Taxes

I have sent the following question to our Islands Trust elected officials, Tobi Elliot, Ken Hunter, and Peter Luckham, and to our CVRD Area G elected official, Jesse McClinton:

“The Phase 2 Taxation Report has been posted to Thetis Blog - Front Page (thetisposts.ca), right hand side of page.
From this report, will you commit to cap Islands Trust and CVRD’s 2025 Budget and 2025 Taxes at 3%? (3% is the top of the 1 to 3% range for the Bank of Canada’s inflation control target). Yes or No?”

I regret that I will not be able to attend the Sept. 23 Thetis Island Assembly to discuss the results.

The bench by the slough is now firmly in place beside the sign which relates the significance of this area.
