Friday, April 19, 2024 at 8:06AM Though my duties as Postmaster have enabled me to meet a good number of Islanders there are quite few whom I haven't. Would like to chat and get to know more people as we approach election time for the TIID.
On the election do come out and vote. The local level of politics is where your vote actually means something. It is at this level that decisions are made that directly affect your everyday routines.
I most definitely do not have all the answers but how can I find them if there are no questions?

Due to concerns about possible drought conditions this year, we won't have our usual supply of 2" & 4" annuals at the farm this year. Instead we will focus on providing beautiful, healthy and unique perennials. New varieties at the farm this weekend!
We have tree water bags available, if you are planting shrubs and trees
this spring.
With thanks,
Jollity Farmers

Thursday, April 18, 2024 at 7:35AM Tuesday afternoon, a walker found signs of inappropriate trail use on the Lawrence Community Trail - ruts from a dirt bike, a log which had been chopped by an axe and an engine part with cloth plugs adjacent to it.
No wheeled vehicles are permitted on any of the trails because the trail beds are not constructed for wheeled vehicles.
Trails are to be left in their natural condition, except when work is carried out by trail committee members. And anything not belonging on a trail should, of course, be taken back out.
Our walking trails are there through the generosity of property owners whose land they are on, and we must respect the guidelines posted at each trail.

Thursday, April 18, 2024 at 7:33AM Make some extra money and have fun doing it!
The Summer Market at Howling Wolf Farm will be starting up on the long weekend in May and run every Saturday until Labour Day.
We’ll be having a meeting at the Community Centre on Friday, April 19th from 11 - 12 to discuss this year’s Summer Market.
We always welcome new vendors, so why not come to the meeting and see what all the fuss is about.
Got questions? Can’t make the meeting?
