Saturday, November 25, 2023 at 7:19AM The first-ever Thetis Island calendar is hot off the press and now available for sale.
All the photos used in the calendar were taken by Islanders or friends of Thetis Island. These photos capture our beautiful island throughout the year.
Thanks to everyone who submitted photos. TICA received more than 170 photos and it was a challenging decision to select the 12 needed for the calendar. TICA also printed some of the images on note cards, while others have been framed and are hanging on display in the Hall.
The calendar is $25, individual cards are $4 and a package of four cards sells for $15.
All will be available at the Christmas Market.
For calendar orders, contact Ellen Rush - ellenrush@gmail.com
Add $5 for Canadian shipping, and $7 for the US.
There are two cover choices, “Preedy Sunset” and “the Cut – Sunrise” to choose from.

Friday, November 24, 2023 at 6:54AM Let's consider the following scenarios:
• Everyone wants a resume. Yours needs to be updated, but you want help.
• Maybe you want to start your own business, what support is there for you?
• The sawmills on Smiley Road are hiring but you need forklift certification to get proper consideration.
• You get a job but they reject your steel toed boots, getting new ones is more than you can afford.
• The ferry cost is just one more thing that you cannot afford until you have a few paychecks.
Johnna Puusa from WorkBC will be on Thetis Island (Forbes Hall - Wednesday November 29th 10:30-11:30). There are many ways the government will support you.
WorkBC connects job seekers and employers – helping people find jobs, explore career options and improve their skills, and helping employers find the right talent and grow their businesses.
This event is sponsored by the Forbes Hall Health Services Committee, please contact David Reay 778-899-3216 if you have any questions.
