Thursday, September 28, 2023 at 8:14AM (it's a small island so you've probably already heard the rumors :)
Our little farm shop has found a new home in Chemainus at the former Nic's Cafe. We are so grateful to Sjoerd and Nicole for creating such a welcoming community hub, and we will continue to spread the Jolly vibes.
We offer coffee and tea (stayed tuned as new coffee beans and are coming soon), plus handmade goodies inspired by the season and Thetis Island farm products. For example, on the menu this week, you'll find muffins using local pear, apple, fig and pumpkin, plus Calzones (made by Virginia) using all Jollity seasonal ingredients and ethical meats. Our new fridge has moved in and will be filled up with Jollity produce, free range eggs and more through the coming week.
These are humble beginnings for us as we are in the midst of harvest season, thus our buckets are already overflowing. As we move towards winter, our focus will turn back to the ready-made meal project and we'll begin to offer light breakfast and lunch at the cafe. As we have more time we will expand our offerings to include a lot more plant-based and gluten free options and lots of items that are convenient for ferry travel.
You will recognize friendly faces from Thetis Island behind the counter at the cafe. We couldn't do this without the talents and support of Finn, Yuka, Liesbeth, Kees and Aimee (and everyone else who has helped out).
For now, our hours are Monday - Saturday 7am to 4pm, but soon we'll be open 7 days a week from 6:30 am to 5pm (and maybe even to 8:30 pm).
Thank you to every one of you who has stopped by to say hello and show your support. We are always happy to hear your suggestions as we aim to please and be of service to our friends on Thetis and Penelakut Islands.
We haven't had time to update our website yet, but updates will continue through our newsletter, and soon we'll post the weekly menu on our site. You can follow along here too: https://www.instagram.com/jollity.farm/
With thanks,
Jollity Farmers

Saturday, September 23, 2023 at 9:53AM To you! Thetis and Penelakut community: Thank you for all the support and warm welcome you've all given us!
We have food, snacks, outdoor games, and water balloons. Lunch is on us, we have arranged for our good friends at Island Farm Poultry to teach us some fire roast chicken techniques while our kitchen is making sides and buns to accompany the meal.
If you want to get in on the mood early, feel free to come to the marina and play games, help prepare, or hang out. We will be aiming for food starting at 1:00pm to around 3:00pm
Come share time with us as we remember our shared history and celebrate our shared connection, communities and friendships.

Saturday, September 23, 2023 at 9:50AM Hey there yogis! I’ll be leading a Hatha yoga class this morning at 9 am at Forbes Hall. Everyone is welcome, all levels. Bring your own mat and props if you’d like.
The class is free but donations to the hall are always welcomed.
See you there, Brianna
Friday, September 22, 2023 at 6:34AM Yoga will be offered at Forbes Hall on Saturdays at 9am for anyone who would like to join. The class is free of charge but donations directly to the hall are always welcome. This is an all levels, very casual class led by Brianna or other teachers here on the island. Come on out to stretch and join our little yoga community. :)
If you'd like to teach, let me know! All styles are welcomed.
Please note that all the current teachers have little kids who seem to roll through colds all winter and last-minute cancellations may be common.
Please check e-spokes on Saturday morning where we will post if the class is a-go or a-no-go. Your understanding is much appreciated!
Hope to see you there,
Brianna
