Rock Tumbler Wanted

Well tis the season for me to find a creative gift that will keep my daughter Athenia occupied. Does anyone have a rock tumbler laying around they would like to sell. I prefer to purchase items, including  Christmas gifts second hand, when possible.  It doesn't need to be pretty, just in working order.

It is always so fun to make these little posts. I never know who might messaged with just the thing that we are looking for.

Possible Cancellations: Chemainus - Penelakut Island - Thetis Island

Issued at 11:38 am Sunday:

As BC Ferries has been unsuccessful in securing the required number of crew to sail the Kuper, there is a potential risk of sailing cancellations for today, November 27. While our crewing teams are working hard to source replacements, the following sailings are at risk if they are unable to do so:

7:45 pm departing Thetis Island
8:05 pm departing Penelakut
8:55 pm departing Chemainus
9:30 pm departing Penelakut
9:50 pm departing Thetis Island
10:30 pm departing Chemainus
11:05 pm departing Penelakut

We require a specific number of staff members on board the vessel to ensure the safety of our passengers in the unlikely event of an emergency and to comply with Transport Canada regulations. Should any sailings be impacted, we will notify customers via Service Notice as soon as the information is confirmed.

The decision to cancel a sailing in these circumstances is made when we have exhausted all options to find replacement staff. If circumstances change and replacement staff become available, we would notify customers immediately.

For the most up-to-date sailing and departure information, follow @BCFerries on Twitter, visit our Current Conditions webpage at www.bcferries.com or call us toll free at 1-888-223-3779.

We appreciate your patience and apologize for any inconvenience you may experience as a result of a cancellation.

New Design TICA Merchandise

New merchandise featuring an image of Maynard Johnny Jr.'s art installation will be available at Soup’s On this week and also at the Christmas Market Dec 3rd.

In 2020 Maynard was commissioned in the Spirit of Reconciliation to create a large exterior wall panel for the Forbes Hall Community Centre. The image of this artwork has been printed on black t-shirts, to copy the installation’s background.

All t-shirts are long sleeve and 100% cotton.

Tree Down at Fairyslipper Trail

A large fir has fallen across the north section of the Fairyslipper loop trail and taken several other trees with it. That section of the trail will be closed until further notice. A closure sign has been posted at the beginning of the loop.

Thank you for your understanding.

Stamps for Cancer

I would like to thank all those who kindly contributed their USED POSTAGE STAMPS in response to my previous appeal.  Those stamps were delivered to the B.C. Cancer Society.  They in turn sell these donated stamps to help raise funds for children with cancer and research in British Columbia.

My last submission was an amazing 5+ pounds of stamps!!!  To date, $482,558.14 has been raised in British Columbia alone for these causes from the sale of the stamps.

I will be at the Christmas market this year at Forbes Hall as a vendor.  This would be a great opportunity for anyone who may be thinking of attending to drop off their used stamps.
There will be a sign at my table marked “ STAMPS FOR B.C.  CANCER SOC.”

Hoping for another 5 pounds plus!!!

Thank you in advance,
Terry Harvey
