Yellow Weather Notification for Upcoming Arctic Outbreak across B.C.

A prolonged period of cold weather is expected across B.C. beginning this Sunday, November 27th, 2022.

The cold conditions will be accompanied by strong winds over coastal B.C., and risk of low-elevation snow for the South Coast including Vancouver Island, the Lower Mainland, and the Sunshine Coast.

This Weather Notification is to provide preliminary guidance for advanced planning.

Jollity: Requests for Christmas Ice Cream Pints

Our favourite local craft ice cream makers are offering Eggnog and Candy Cane pints as a seasonal special this year.
We need to order a mixed case of 36 units, so we are looking for your interest.

If you'd like to order up some of these for the holidays, please let us know. We will have it in stock early to mid-Dec. (if there are other types of the regular varieties you'd like for the
holidays, also let us know as we'll be making an order soon)

Jollity Farm Updates

Now that the weather is changing, we have limited supply of fresh veggies and lack of sufficient indoor space, today will be our last regular market of the season.

Stay tuned for more updates, but it is likely we will offer an increased home delivery service over winter.

For the weeks ahead, we will continue to supply salad, braising greens, carrots, kale, garlic, frozen tomatoes, preserves, eggs, local dairy, baking etc. but only pre-ordered. You can use our handy order form which is always available on the home page of our website. The order form is updated every Sunday evening. All baking and dairy orders must always be in by Monday at noon.

We will continue to stock up our Kiosk every Wednesday morning with salad, eggs and other seasonal goodies.

If you would like to pick up your regular Saturday order at the Kiosk, just ask and we'll put it down there. It's cold enough soon for milk, eggs and yogurt to stay out there for the morning. Frozen items and Kombucha will always be up in the farm shop.

Our birdyard brand chicken plucker is not working. Anyone who might be able to fix it? We will pay for parts and labour of course.

Looking For a Friendly Printer on Thetis

Since coming to Thetis the one or two pdfs that I've needed in print have been graciously granted to me by my daughter in law who is currently on vacation.

Thus I'm "Wondering" if I might find another Thetis Islander who would be willing to provide laser printer service whilst my regular printer is vacationing.

Space Heater Alert

Cold weather is in the forecast.  We would like to remind everyone that space heaters CANNOT be plugged into power strips or extension cords. 

Plug space heaters directly into the wall outlet.

Powers strips are not designed to handle the high current flow required by a space heater and can overheat, causing a fire.

Pick-up Sofa Left at Bottle Return

I noticed a sofa dumped at the bottle return. I will be going to CVRD Bings Creek Recycling Thursday Dec. 1^st and will take the sofa. I need a volunteer to help load it into my truck. It would be nice if the person who dumped it, volunteered. No questions asked. :)
