Fundraiser for SOAS

School Orchards Africa Society ( SOAS ) is proceeding with plans for an evening of food and fun on Friday, Nov.4 , at Forbes Hall. This is a 'shout out' for anyone who'd like to support the event by volunteering. If you're an entertainer, (music, dance, drama, poetry etc.) you'll have an appreciative audience. Perhaps you can donate something for our Prize Extravaganza. Or maybe you'd like to help with set -up or clean up. It's all about our community helping a struggling community in Tanzania.

Visit our website www.schoolorchardsafrica.org to see what your contributions have achieved in 10 years. To join the fun of making this a successful event, contact :

Maureen and Wayne Loiselle    ( 250-246-2184)

sunrisegrail@gmail.com

Tickets will be available shortly.

Thanking you in advance,

Maureen

Winter Concert December 10 at Forbes Hall

3:00 refreshments and mingle
4:00 concert on the stage

It will be near mid-winter and whatever you celebrate amongst the warmth of family and friends gathered in the cold of the season, this event will be a light in the darkness and a celebration of talent in our community you won’t want to miss.

Younger or older, instrumental solo, duet, ensemble or choir, singing, dancing, reciting, storytelling or something we haven’t thought of yet, get practicing and get ready to share with the community what you’ve been working on this year. Clarinet, tap, ballet, ukulele, public speaking…it is amateur hour, so everyone qualifies. Don’t be shy.

We need acts taking not more than five minutes each and will round out the event with an old fashioned sing-along.

Please let Margaret or Simone know which of your talents you will offer. We also need volunteers to set up and take down the stage and chairs, volunteers to help set up and serve refreshments and of course to bring plates of cookies and all the favourite seasonal goodies.

Email  Margaret at slowrando@yahoo.ca with how you want to participate. If you are hesitant, email anyway and encouragements and support will be offered. It may take the whole community to make this happen. Let’s do it.
