Looking for a Place

Hi Everyone!

I am looking for a RV or a small place to rent on Thetis Island.

I work at the Marina and can have the RV at the property if it's moveable.

If it's a short-term rental, I can work with that as well.

I would ideally like to stay on Thetis but if anyone has anything in Chemainus or Ladysmith that would be great as well.

Thank you all!

Dianne

New Health and Wellness Offerings

Monday Mornings 10:00-11:00 am

Chair Yoga with Dawn (for gentle rehabilitation)

Great for all abilities – by donation, open to all (children – seniors)

50 minutes - stretch, gently lengthen, strengthen and work on balance while supported by the stability of the chair. 10-minute relaxation to finish.

(I taught a gentle floor yoga from 2011-2015’ish and then several injuries side-lined me for a bit, and as I am healing from back surgery, I would love to offer others the companionship of feeling awkward in these bodies we now have and to gently practice together). The same stretches can be done on mats on the floor alongside of the chairs also.

If you have questions, are curious, would like to know more please contact me: Dawn @

250-210-0826 or dawn_gordon@telus.net; I would also like to hear if you are interested, or if another time is better, get an idea of interest also.

We can begin any time in February 2026.

Thursday Evenings 7:00 -8:00 pm

Movement, Mudra, Mantra, Meditation and Sound Scapes

I would like to offer a more meditative practice with some gentle movement simply to release the day, some mantra and vocal involvement, followed by a guided-meditation and a wee sound journey with crystal bowls and gentle chimes, from 7-8 pm. Simply restorative relaxation.

Also by donation, drop-in’s welcome, however it would be great to get an idea of how many might be interested, text me at 250-210-0826 or email dawn_gordon@telus.net

Forbes Hall Lawn Care: Volunteers Needed

Did You Know?

The lawns at Forbes Hall are maintained by volunteers using TICA-provided, well-kept equipment. Throughout the year, and especially during the growing season of April through July, the lawns must be mowed and trimmed on a regular basis. During the heavier growth times, the lawns are cut every 10-14 days, whereas other times of year only once a month or so. It is work that is appreciated by everyone going to the hall to see that the grounds are well looked after.

Can you help?

TiCA is looking for up to four new people to volunteer for this job. The more volunteers we have, the less often each needs to work. This job is done on your own, with the support of the other volunteers.

What would the volunteer role look like?

· A schedule/roster will be created by a leader. Volunteers need to stay in contact with each other and the leader, to ensure the job is done with regularity.

· They should be physically fit enough to work with the tools provided.

· Full instructions will be given on the areas being tended to and on how to use and maintain the supplied equipment.

Please contact Terry Hamilton terry.hamilton888@outlook.com or Ron Bannister ron_bannister@telus.net

Looking forward to hearing from you,

Thanks

Boat Wanted

We’re looking to buy a boat for exploring nearby islands and commuting to Penelakut. Before looking further afield we wanted to check if anything’s available on Thetis.

We’re open-minded about what we want, though not looking for a fixer upper.

If you might have something, email me at adam.sandell.net, replacing the ‘a’ in my surname with an ‘@‘.

Thanks!
Adam

Howling Wolf Farm Market

Hi everyone,

In case you haven't heard, Marylyn’s Howling Wolf Farm Market and the dock are currently under investigation following an anonymous complaint. Marylyn’s stand has been a community staple for 20 years and remains an essential resource for both Thetis Island residents and tourists.

How You Can Help

If you would like to support the stand, there are two ways to make your voice heard:

1. Sign the Petition: A letter and petition will be available to sign at the Market starting this afternoon.

2. Write a Letter: You can email our local representatives directly to express the importance of the farm stand to our community.

Please send your support to:

 Trustees: kehunter@islandstrust.bc.ca and pluckham@islandstrust.bc.ca

 Island Planner: mmccargar@islandstrust.bc.ca

 Bylaw Enforcement Officer: dschneider@islandstrust.bc.ca

Thank you all for your kind words and for standing with us to protect a local landmark.
