Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at 9:14AM BC Hydro is planning a power outage on THURSDAY, November 3rd as they take down several danger trees near the Recycling yard on Pilkey Point Road. The trees will most likely take down the lines and there may be road delays. We do not yet know if only the Pilkey Point Road area will be affected or the whole island. The information hasn’t been posted yet on Hydro’s planned outage website. We know that the Pilkey side will be out at about 9:30 and they plan on leaving the island in the early afternoon.

Funny...after almost 100 days without much in the way of rainfall, I find myself forgetting to empty the gauge or record the result or put it in the spreadsheet...

Monday, October 31, 2022 at 8:13AM The People’s Apothecary Garden has been tucked in for another winter. Thank you to all who came out for yesterday’s PAG event, and a special thanks to all of our 2022 PAG volunteers: Jan, Liz, Ellen, Sahir, Carol, Mark, Rob, Jim, David, Steph, Chandler, Ann, Noan, Mila, Liam, and the Thetis Island School gang. Your help with weeding, harvesting, pruning, and mulching most definitely helped ‘make light work’, and it’s been a joy working alongside and learning from you.
New plants and seeds are in the ground and are getting adjusted to their new neighbourhood - thank you Nan, Ann, John, and Jutta for your leafy contributions.
Next year you can expect a few new educational additions to the garden: an info panel about the PAG and a deck of laminated plant knowledge cards, which will provide some information on each medicinal plant, its properties, and how to use them.
Thanks once again!
Charlotte
