It was great to see all the kids out at Family Fun Day on Saturday. Some are here on family holidays with relatives or visiting friends, and some live and go to school here. Everyone was having fun.
But here’s a question for you…if you asked the child what your Lot number is, would they be able to answer? We know they know how to call 911, but can they direct an emergency crew to the right location? You might not be able to coach them at that time. Why not have a fun safety quiz at dinner?

Theo Monk is still missing. It's been a week.
photos and description here: http://www.thetisposts.ca/front-page/2022/8/2/missing-cat.html
Thanks to everyone who's been watching for him.
And for the encouraging stories of cats who've waltzed in after a long time.
Maybe your kids/grandkids would like to call him?
His name is quite fun to say, and our neighbours would absolutely love that! call/text anytime. 250-416-9528

Our 5- and 7-year-old great-grandchildren are coming for a visit Aug 15 to 18. Does anyone have a small tent we can put on our deck for them to sleep in? We would gladly buy or borrow.

9:00 - 11:00 Harvest Hours at the PAG - Pruning like a champ! Lot 62 North Cove Road (all ages)
Drop by the People’s Apothecary Garden anytime between 9:00 - 11:00 to take a wander, harvest some herbs, and learn about the PAG's 40 + medicinal plants. Today we will be pruning our herb spiral garden as well as any of our other plants who need a good trimming! Everyone can take home the cuttings as well. We would love volunteers to come show us their pruning techniques and offer insight.
2:00 - 4:00 Family Nature Afternoons at the Nature House (all ages)
Cool off from the summer heat by swimming and snorkeling at the beach. We will swim along the shore observing crabs, sea stars, and other sea creatures. We will have a few ThINC members collecting items from deeper water to show more sea life off! There will be no lifeguard on duty, so parents are required to stay and help their kids in the water. The seaquarium will also be open for this visit. Bring sunscreen, floaties, towel, goggles, masks & snorkels for this fun filled day!
A bit of sleuthing ended up with the key being found at Forbes Hall.
Thanks

I know this year isn’t great for apples but if anyone has apples on their tree and they’re not going to use them, I’d be happy to come pick them. Hoping to make apple butter this fall. Email nmduncan@shaw.ca
Thanks
