BC Ferries has just put out a notice explaining their Free Medical Travel policy and procedures. It wasn’t very transparent before. This should answer some of your questions.

Country Grocer (previously 49th) Grocery Pick-up

If you are wondering... we still pick up grocery orders each Thursday.

We've chatted with Country Grocer and the process is still the same.

Place your orders by phone before 11am on Wednesday morning. They will shop for you and we'll pick up on Thursday.

Please confirm you have placed an order with us by Wednesday eveningwith an email to orders@jollityfarm.ca .

St. Margaret's Cemetery Annual Work Party

The St. Margaret's Cemetery Committee is organizing a work party for Sunday May 7th, 9:30 - 12:00. At noon we will break for a picnic lunch and an opportunity to share stories about the lives of the people buried in the Cemetery.

The invite goes out to the entire island community. Many of the graves have loving caretakers, but there are a few whose family and friends are no longer here or unable to take care of them. It is our hope that members of the community would be willing to come out and look after these graves.

I don't know of a better way to spend a morning than taking time out our lives to spend taking care of the memory of people who are now part of our rich island history.

Post Office Boxes Update

We are in the works but the more pressure we can apply as a community the quicker we can make this happen. The individual I am working with asks that anyone who wants a post office box to call this number: 1-800-267-1177 

You will be asking to get a post office box, but they are all full. When can Thetis Island expect more boxes? 

As many of you that want a box as possible can phone in and get on record the easier it will be for my Canada Post contact to put our case forward.

Post Office General Information

Hours of operation:

10:00 to 17:00 (5:00PM). The opening time same as the store.

Lunch:

12:00 to 12:30. No service available at this time. 

End of Day

From 16:45 (4:45 PM) to 17:00 we do the end of day. Counting cash and shutting down the computer and getting the daily printouts. This all takes time. During this time, we can give out parcels (we can scan the tags the next day) but we will not be able to send parcels or perform any cash transactions because the computer is shutting down.
