Late Requests for Dairy & Baking Orders (plus other farm updates)

Hope you are all okay out there and hopefully not enjoying dinner by candlelight tonight! (It's romantic the first night, right?)

We are able to slip in some late orders this week if all are received Wed. morning, so please let us know if you'd like any changes to your local milk, yogurt or True Grain bakery orders this week.

Compost - our first order of compost was delayed last Friday due to some issues with the delivery truck. Stay tuned for an update. Deliveries will happen weekly over the course of 4 weeks once we begin again later this week.

Easter Weekend Flowers - in time for the Easter weekend, we'll be stocked up on all kinds of edible goodies, but also... our tables will be full of basket and planter stuffers and other annual flowers.

Grocery home delivery requests by Thursday evening please and thanks!

With thanks from your Local Farmers!

Structural Protection Unit / Firesmart Free BBQ

Save the Date: Saturday May 21, 11:00 am to 1:00pm.

Forbes Hall Community Centre

SPU Free BBQ lunch with guest speaker Captain Mitchell Sherrin, Salt Spring Island Fire Rescue. Mitchell's topic will be "FireSmart in the Gulf Islands".

The SPU (Structure Protection Unit) is a volunteer auxiliary to the Thetis Island Fire Department and chaired by Jim Moloney. We are building a team to provide emergency support to homes and structures threatened by forest fires. In addition, we are working to build understanding of fire safety on the island, with the goal of having Thetis Island becoming a FireSmart community.

With another hot summer in the forecast, we need to ensure that we are prepared.

We look forward to seeing you at the BBQ.
