This year's Summer Market at Marylyn's Farm Shop (69 Pilkey Point Road) is just around the corner and we are looking for new vendors.
Are you an artist with a room full of your creations? Or do you have too much produce in your garden? How about having your Yard Sale at the market with all your treasures hiding in the basement or garage?
We charge $40 for the season or $10 for the day.
As a vendor you will have to supply your own table, tent or canopy.
Please contact Helen Bird at 250-246-2469 or Gloria Taylor 250-246-3091.
Hurry and get your name(s) on the list before all the spots are filled.
Thank you

TIRRA (Thetis Island Residents' and Ratepayers' Association) is working with the Ladysmith RCMP detachment to host a Fireside Chat on Thetis Island.
Apparently the last one was over 5 years ago and there has been an expression of interest to host another.
Attendance is open to the everyone, and tentative date/time is 9:30 to 11:30, the morning of April 20th. This is a Wednesday, so the plan would be to have this event followed by the regular Soup's On. Confirmation of date/time will come closer to the date.
In order to maximize the benefit to all and assist the RCMP in preparing for the Fireside Chat, we would like your input on specific topics of interest.
Here are a few to get your ideas flowing.
- stats on RCMP involvement in Thetis Island policing
- accessing RCMP for non emergency and emergency
- ideas from other small remote communities: ideas for crime reduction, neighbourhood watch, local auxiliary,, etc.
Please submit potential topics or questions to:
tirra@thetisisland.net
For anyone who is concerned about the freighter anchorages in the gulf islands, the Port of Vancouver has proposed a new Active Vessel Traffic Management program plan. The South Coast Ship Watch Alliance (https://nofreighteranchorages.ca/) would like those of us concerned about freighter traffic and anchorages in the southern gulf islands to provide our feedback on these anchorages and the new plan. Please see the email from SCSWA linked below with instructions (section titled “How You Can Help”) on how to voice your concern.
Thanks,
Alex Sinclair
