Pick-up at Island Blue AGAIN!

I hope this is the last until the next Quarterly.  This time it is for the 2022 Visitors' Guides.  For sure, any time after noon on Friday, possibly before, in which case I'd let you know.

If anyone can do this for us, thank you thank you!

You can now support the volunteers of the Fire Department at no cost. The Thetis Island Volunteer Firefighters Society (TIVFS) has taken out a membership in the Mid Island Co-op.

If you make purchases at a Mid Island store or gas station and use the TIVFS membership number:

Milk Bottle (and other glass jar/bottle) Returns

Please remember to return any Cowichan Milk bottles you have stashed at home. If you break or lose a bottle please let us know. We pay a $2 deposit on every single bottle each week and some weeks we are finding our returns aren't balancing out our pick-ups.

Also, we'd love to reuse any of the jars you take home salad dressing, sauces, and dips. Please return clean jars and we'll record your returns and offer you a discount on refills. Ditto on coffee jars.

Changes to Jollity Home Delivery Service

Starting this week and for the rest of the summer, we are shifting to Thursday grocery pick-ups and can no longer offer home delivery service. We will still pick up your groceries in town, as well as milk, yogurt and all the other goodies. A new system is being set up for on farm pick up. You will be able to come to the farm on Thursday late afternoon/evening (Friday or over the weekend is fine too), if you just want to collect dairy with other veggies and ready-made foods.

We will be starting twice weekly harvest so fresh veggies will be available mid-week as well as Saturday and Sunday.

We will always do our best to help out and can make special arrangements for home delivery if someone is unwell or doesn't have support at home with a dependent. This can be an open dialogue and together we will navigate the changes.

Thanks so much for rolling with us and getting used to the new schedule. There are sure to be a couple of bumps as we adapt to a new weekly flow.

If you have any dairy order changes or bakery requests for this week, please submit asap. Moving forward, order cut off times for dairy and bakery items will be Monday morning by 9am. Groceries, plus other food and produce by Tuesday evening please.

With thanks! Noah, Elisabeth & Finn
