The final community clinic for COVID vaccinations is tomorrow, Tuesday the 10th of August, from 10am to 1:30pm, at the Forbes Hall Community Centre.
If you or your visitors, guests, employees, friends or acquaintances on the island still need your second or even first shot, please go to
https://www.islandhealth.ca/learn-about-health/covid-19/covid-19-vaccine/taking-whole-community-approach
to register.
You might be able to just turn up, but it would be safer to register, to be sure the nurses bring enough vaccine on the day.
If you have any questions, email covidclinic@thetisislandfire.ca

Hi Thetis Island Neighbors
We have our sprinklers installed on our home & they do work however there are a few wrinkles we are trying to iron out.
Is there anyone who has installed sprinklers on a two roofed home with success?
If so, let us know if we can view your system or talk with you about briefly to gather information.
If not, it looks like we are going to have to make custom hoses & keep brainstorming.
Thanks in advance,

We still have over 50 11L ice cream pales and lids free to good homes.
Take one, take two, or take them all! They make for great planters and the lids are good to set them on to avoid water stains.
Come by Telegraph Harbour Marina between 9am and 6pm 7 days a week.
I had some phone calls Saturday morning asking if it was now okay to mow lawns and run gas powered equipment in the woods after the “rain” we has Friday night. The answer unfortunately for those keen on chores is “no”.
We are still in EXTREME Fire Hazard and we are still under a Provincial State of Emergency for wildfire.
Additionally, we are heading into another heat event with smoke in the atmosphere. And that alert came before the two wildfires just across from us at Copper Canyon on the Chemainus River and Mt. Prevost.
As of 4:30 Saturday afternoon the fire on Mt. Prevost was still out of control, with 5 helicopters bucketing and 30 wildfire crew on the ground. That little bit of precipitation did not move the needle on the fine fuel moisture content and the high winds today dried everything up.
We all have to be patient and wait for several soaking wet days in a row before we can let our guard up a bit.
Thank you for your continuing vigilance and support in keeping our island fire-free.
