Forbes Hall Key is Missing

Either late Saturday, or by noon on Sunday, a key went missing from the lock box at the Court Side Entry at Forbes Hall.

If you accidentally opened the door and put the key in your pocket, could you please return it to the lock box ASAP?

There are very few people that even know the code, and we’re hoping that one of those few will see this posting and say OOOPS!

Many thanks

Capernwray: Online Ladies Conferences

May 28 & 29, Miriam Ellershaw will teach on the topic of Prayer: Praying to a God Who Hears

Together, we will take a closer look at some of the well-known prayers of God’s people found in Scripture. One would expect that prayer would be the norm for God’s people but it’s often a challenge.  God invites us to pray and has made every provision necessary for us to do so.  As we examine some of these prayers, we will discover how, through communication with God, our hearts are changed, restored, and renewed, all for His Glory.

June 4 & 5, Tessa Thudian will teach the book of Ruth; from Ruin to Redemption

An encouraging narrative of an ordinary woman used by God to do His extraordinary work.  We will journey with Ruth and Naomi through their personal sorrows, their daily decisions, and their expectations of God and see the kindness and goodness of a Redeemer Who never leaves or forsakes those who choose to follow Him. This story highlights God’s plan and purpose for His people as well as the practical ways we can love and serve in the most challenging of times.

No Yard Waste Burning

No more Yard Waste Fire Permits will be issued until the end of fire season.  All previously issued Yard Waste Fire Permits have now expired.

Campfire permits are still active and available.

Please be advised that we are moving into HIGH Hazard and all activities (chain-sawing, mowing, etc. with gas powered equipment) must be completed by 1 pm followed by a 2-hour fire watch.

Construction debris and stump-burning is never allowed, no matter what time of year.  Stumps can be buried, shredded, or hauled off-island.  Stump burning in the CVRD attracts a large fine and puts our island in higher danger of bush fires.

Please call 911 immediately if you see smoke in the woods during the daytime or a column of smoke.  The bush fire off Foster Point Rd. on Friday, May 14th had obviously been burning for several hours before 911 was called at 5pm and took several hours to extinguish.  The column of smoke could be seen from the ferry.
