I have kefir grains that are reproducing at a very fast rate. Would you like some?
One tablespoon will start you off making your own kefir and will ferment anywhere from 1 cup to 4.
Please let me know if you would like some now or even in the future. I can start a list of people who might want some as my grains produce more than I can consume.

Dear Friends:
Would it be possible to pick up a prescription for me at Rexall Pharmacy on Willow Street in Chemainus today (Thursday)?
I tried to pay in advance by credit card over the phone, but that’s not possible. The bill is around $27.50, which I’ll pay you when we meet to pick it up.
Do let me know in advance. My number is below.
Many thanks.
Gary Geddes, 250-246-8176,
Once again, we are finding a significant increase of incorrect recycling being left at the returnable bottles site. Please make yourself aware and share this information with any guests, renters, or visitors coming to Thetis!!
ALL Recyclable items other than beverage containers MUST be taken off island to a local recycling depot such as Peerless or Bings Creek.
A helpful hint: Virtually all types of ready-to-drink beverage containers are accepted on Thetis, please check the signage at the site to be sure. Containers such as coffee cream and soup broth are not “ready to drink” and are not accepted.
We want to thank our faithful community for your consistent donations! It really does make a huge difference for our teachers and students.

Hello Neighbors,
I'm reaching out because I've run into a bit of a hiccup with my tiling project—specifically, I'm in need of some grout haze remover.
Before making a trip over to the other side, I thought I’d check in here first. If anyone has a bit leftover from a past project that they wouldn't mind sharing, I’d be so grateful.
Thank you in advance,
Elite

With the debt fully paid off, TICA directors are now asking themselves, “What’s next?”. To answer this question, the board has been examining its mandate and role and what its focus will be in the coming years.
While TICA must continue to fulfil its mandate to oversee and manage Forbes Hall, the board would now like to re-evaluate its operations through an environmental lens. To this end, TICA will be adding a board position with a dedicated Environmental portfolio. The new board member will be someone with a strong interest (and perhaps experience) in exploring and promoting environmental issues and solutions and will work with other board members and volunteers to develop operational plans and projects for the future.
The Board has noticed the growing number of babies, toddlers, children and youth living, playing and learning on Thetis Island. There is room for programs and activities at Forbes Hall that are specifically designed for, and directed to, these children and youth. In acknowledgment of this, TICA will be adding a board position with a Child & Youth Initiatives portfolio. This director will liaise with parents and youth to accommodate new initiatives and events, bringing the ideas to the Board for discussion and implementation.
If you are interested in either of these two positions, please contact a Board member:

The Fairyslipper orchids are blooming, and the wild birds are nesting at the Fairyslipper Forest Nature Reserve. The delicate flowers can be seen along the trail and the mother birds with their nests and chicks can be hiding close by and are easily disturbed.
Please keep your dogs on a short leash or even better, leave them at home so they don't disturb the wildlife at this sensitive time.
Enjoy your Earth Week walks.
Thank you for your support for nature on Thetis Island.

It’s getting close to that time of the year again!
The Summer Market at Marylyn’s Kusina at the head of Telegraph Harbour has openings for vendors who would like to share their creations.
Set up your tent for the season for $40 or drop in for $10 a time. Net funds go to the Thetis Island Community Fund at the end of the season.
The Market runs every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. starting May 17th and finishing on Labour Day.

We, on Hollyberry Lane, have been experiencing aggressive invaders to our previously calm neighbourhood…
First there was a black and white one which resulted in expensive vet visits from a number of us. Then a very big tabby which has come back from time to time (not Lynx!) and attacked one of our residents’ cats. Lately a mostly cream cat with pale orange tabby markings has been coming back again and again.
As a neighbourhood, we’re getting tired of footing very expensive vet bills. If you have an intact cat - particularly male - we’d appreciate it if you had it dealt with. You might be receiving our vet bills in the future otherwise….
